something i'd never expected from kolor.
A repetetive and cliched Winamp plugin style demo; the last thing I was expecting from the group that made masterpieces like De Profundis and Relais.

This demo brings out the Kolor in my eyes. Perhaps best visual design in a demo to the date.

swapped my rad97 to gf3 for two prods from TUM. will never do again.

there will never be a fix for non-nvidia, sorry. maybe we will have a final, but it will be more concerned with content, size & efficiency.
noize: fair (especially since i have a spare gf4 for demos like these), but i do wonder what the "excuse" is for limiting the display adapter support in such a horrible way? i didn't really see anything that should've required extremely funky codepaths for different vendors in opengl, or couldn't just have been done using a relatively standard set of d3d features.

the graphics+design are excellent and the rest is nice too.
plek: two things: the demo is build on relais, and there is no excuse for needing everything relais needed once, sorry. this has been stated a "deficit" in the infofile already.
the other thing is, that relais didn't support ati, for which i don not know the reason. i only know that a rather famous german coder claimed to able to port it to ati, and failed, earlier this year :) but i see, this is a steady problem to our pipeline, and i will try to make support for other vendors an option for future releases.

hey, i don't watch kolor demos (& other...) at home. do you know why? because i have radeon 9000 card. do you know why? because i don't wanna pay for ge force 4 mx. guys, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, give us, radeon users, new or final or fixed exe of this demo with radeon cards support!!!!

I expected much more content for 8.5mb
Preferred it over FR's crap. However, Shiva said they only coded some effects, and it was assembled and compiled by a gfxman whom even he himself doesn't know.

From an artistic standpoint I definitely like it. The light in the middle is just damn beautiful and the whole composition is awesome.
Tho, what was missing IMHO was a kind of climax. Might that I'm a bit oldfashioned in this regard, but the good ole concept "tension arc" wasn't invented for completely no reason and after the really nice build-up this prod doesn't go anywhere, which is a pity.
Same thing with the music, it's good and trippy ambient/IDM, but again it's rather a random collection of patterns than a closed piece of music.

Ok, so they took a break from their usual story-3d-flyby approach, but to me, it didn't really worked out. It leaves the impression of being a rather generic quickly-thrown-together style production which lacks a lot of content. (and dissing the fr tum demo while only having this to offer was a bit... strange)

got a chance to watch it at home with a duron 1,2ghz 512mb ram gf42ti pc, demo was fluid and wonderful. the soundtrack is great, too. but i guess its just too abstract for the regular simple minded human to become popular. not that our demo is any different ;) in fact i love abstract stuff.
judging by the comments i'm looking forward to see the video version of this demo (funny though that even r9800 isn't enough to see this demo).

errm.... there is an interesting bug over here :) i have overlays, i have the background, but i have no effects. hu? seems like the whole 3d (or that stuff i saw in the screenshot) is missing. without that: booooooring ;) (gf3ti200)
not tremendously impressive, but it has a really nice feel to it for me. Plus the effect transitions are so good you don't notice them :)

There were some interesting things happening here, but the bright spot in the middle was very distracting in an annoying manner. On the other hand, that was probably the point and I missed it once again.
RELEASE A FINAL ! Halffunctional only GeForce releases sucks...

back when raytrayzer made this (zero custom code! he just used my tools & engine) i was a bit worried because he made quite ineffcient use of it. watching it now, i am amazed at how well the design stood the test of of time.

Oh my god... how is it possible this isn't better known? One of the most sophisticated demoscene prods I've seen. This is a demo build around a design and an aesthetic, not the other way around, and that shows.
