I'm not sure about it, not the tech.. just general taste. Perhaps I've grown out of nordic death metal growl and aesthetics.. but I'll watch it later on real machinery rather than live stream and give it a proper review.

This time there were no huge changes on the tech front.
The usual "normalmap" objects can also have ambient occlusion now. I had a special optimization in mind to make this additional shading free (except for perhaps some cache trashing), but never got around to doing it. It is just brute force multiplication of the result after "normalmap" lookup with the ambient occlusion map. It only works on linear palettes. With the "free" optimization it should work in color as well.
Another change is bitplane overlays and their blend mode with the rest of the scene can be controlled by script now. The noise and rain layers are 2-bitplane images scrolling randomly on the y coordinate.
We got some additional optimizations in the works, but upon hearing the compo machine was a 105MHz 060 we decided to lean back and not change anything that might introduce any more last minute bugs.
Could be worth for the final though, but it doesn't seem like anyone is watching finals. So perhaps next demo!

Oh and if you add --fps option you can see how fast each part ran on your computer. A benchmark mode.
And the objects are also antialiased by Eph-WSAA (Works Sometimes Anti Aliasing). Just like MSAA, but the first letter is upside down.

Nice norweigan black metal demo on the 060, just saw it for the first time in the Black Metal Demoshow at Black Valley on Stream
I love Amiga musical diversity in demos and now we can add "heavy rock" or whatever this is to the mix! And I just love the lighting on the troll face, too!
