This is one slick demo. Contains loads of great graphics by Maestro and J.O.E and some cool effects for its time.

not only "cool" effects, but "impossible" effects. stuff that you can't do with todays boring and restrictive apis.
Goold oldschool watch if you can get it to run somewhere..
a sight for sore eyes.
One of the best demos in the early pc years. Nice effects, kicking design and a good soundtrack (maybe a bit repetitive).
really nice demo that contained a lot of good pictures by Joe !
some excellent hardware accelerated effects there ;)
Joy!
yeah, pretty much as oldschool as you can get on PC and not suck. (kind of strange sentence, that)
GBU is overall a nice watch; long, really effects focused, a soundtrack that keeps it going, and just look at the sheer drabness of those colours - these days everything is so fucking shiny...
seems like the party ranking is missing: this got 2nd at tp3. the compo was won by Untitled by Dust, which to my recollection is much shorter and pretty boring, but has a Doom part that was impressive in that day & age. goes to show that gamer voting at big parties isn't anything new.
I wish this were on the DemoDVD, but it just didn't get enough votes against the likes of 2nd Reality and Crystal Dream 2...

the infofile was absolutely funnier than the demo itself ;)
big'up
watch it on an old 486 and you'll be astonished how FAST is runs! this really impressed me at the time... and still does, compared to most modern productions :)
It runs even on 286!
I will share 1 more glop to thumb up this oldschool masterpiece!
I have ran it lately in my old 386. Some parts reminds me Amiga demos (For example that chessboard logo&vector was from an Amiga demo, Dane was it called as I rememer? It flashed my mind back...) and runs fine in very old machines (Hmm,. I haven't tried it in 286, I will see later..)
The nfo file was really funny, just read it from here, I hadn't seen it before..
Cool!

The WHQ Fax machine is pretty unique :)
legendary.

A veritable "who's who" of oldskool demo effects. Almost every one imaginable, with some great transitions and some nice art here and there. Some of the parts are heavily inspired by classic Amiga demos such as DANE and Extension. The soundtrack is available here.
Yeeehaaa ... awesome work.
I had fun watching this demo.
Classic, plain classic.

simply great
lovely, rocked on the bigscreen at tp3!
If there is one oldschool demo i've watched more often over the years than second reality it's this one.
I can remember that it rules, even though I haven't seen it in years.
!!!
thats what i call a huge nfo..
kudos for the demo

Ruleeez! Amiga spirit on the PC!
This Amiga style rocks!
I think I've run it once on 286 and it was preety fine. Now I've rewatched it in my 386 with my Gravis and am still astonised about some effects going very fast here. Oh,. and are these the first 2d blobs in a PC demo ever?
Nostalgia overflow! :)
Fat.
Lots of effects, great music (reminds me of old coin-ops).
VIDEO PLEASE
regiert
Seriously? :(
Cool stuff from the back of the day :)
nice show that :)
the music rocks!
the music rocks!
Ok for its time.
For its time, real cool stuff! Still fun to watch!
Some nifty code there for the time.
And as a sidenote to S!P: Send my floppies back, you disk stealers!

nice mix of effects
nice!
Oldschool mix of effects :)
"We like certain classic Amiga demos and will port the effects to DOS" kind of demo. OK but lacks the design of the demos it tries to imitate.
One of the first demos I've seen, amazing stuff for it's time !
That were the times Amiga Demos were ahead of PC stuff, this whole thing looks like a nice and slick OCS demo......from 1990/91...weak sentimental thumb
Nice demo
One of my favorite demos of all time. A true inspiration when i just started demo coding
Nice 90s PC demo, just saw it due to superogue, also decided to watch the capture without MDT9k comments first to hear the great Soundtrack aswell
Amazing and underrated, overshadowed. Music not completely my taste, takes nothing away from the awesomeness =)

Design? What design? Another ugly PC demo. A bunch of Amiga effects, but on the faster machine. Chaotic, with quite average pixels...
Good Amiga music, thou...

Here are a few cool transitions in this demo. Seems like some scenes became the inspiration for Future Crew's "Second Reality".
Awesome!.
I tried to load this on my real 286 12 Mhz and it did not work, after the spinning cubes fade out at the start of the demo, the computer just shows a black screen.

This demo does some interesting VGA tricks which seem to be not very compatible with all the "modern" cards in my DOS PC (tried S3 Trio, ET4000, Radeon7000 - all PCI).
Any tips for a card that works?
