VERY nice code from AEG in this demo (as always).
Some of the routines just made my jaw drop to the floor.

Hmm.. odd that this got only 3rd place. I guess that c64 sceners prefer the "classic" style now, or maybe they're sick of the Triage series :) (understandable).
Anyway, some cool parts here. 3d metaballs on 64 (finally!) and a Kasparov-style room spin, among others. But there are also a few boring parts, so I wouldn't call it the best Triage demo yet.

a bunch of kick-ass effects.
a demo that I've watched once and haven't bothered to look at again.
same old effects, but in higher resolution and WAAAY slower than they should be...
no more 2fps fx. please

Yes there are some slow effects that could be done perhaps better (Although I am not expert on 6510 asm to be able to talk about that ;)
But generally there are some other cool and new ones.
Funny thing is where Aeg tries to show a 3d metaballs routine on C64, even if it's really slow,.. but such heavy and slow things are not good for demowatching but just experimental interesting from a coders view. (E.g. AEG's raytracer 4kb in MS2001 was ugly and boring, but I found it interesting and crazy to see that some really crazy guy just decided to code one realtime raytracing engine on C64!)
I just seen on www.c64.sk that Smash Designs C64 will not be anymore. Oh no! We want you back!!! Anyways..

one thumb up shared for the whole Triage gang, but just here thanks to this one.
Boring recycled crap. Slow, crummy effects. And is that noise supposed to be music? Awful endless transposes of unimaginative polish technopatterns. Sucks bigtime.
Like every other Triage, - nothing new really :/ just _ clean blahblah, hey... YOU CAN DO BETTER THAT THAT :)
unbelievable crap.
Just to oppose all those crackheads who are giving it thumbs down. (and yet you like this huh? I forgot to mention how much the music rocks (so it's not Mitch & Dane swing tempo, don't cry).
Yep, this deserves a thumbs up. AEG rules!
Uh, I guess this will cause just another pointless flamewar, but I'm going to say it anyway...
I rather watch some slow moving, low-resolution NEW (new for c64 that is...) effect than the usual oldschool fx that have been overused like hell in the past 10 years of c64 history.
Do we really need raster bars anymore (or plasmas, 2d starfield). The INOVATION in smash demos is that they tried to extend the horizont of the usual c64 demo watcher. Sure, some hardcore oldschool fanatics interpreted their efforts as pc-demo-imitation, but Smash shouldn't pay too much attention to those dudes.
The only real point of criticism is that AEG recycles his routines much too often.
Thumbs up here. Next to SR64 and our darkness their best effort.

It doesn't matter if it's PC imitation or not, nothing in this demo is really close to HCL's slimepic. Royal Arte is much better, that's it.
really cool
i have to agree concerning the recycled routines. nevertheless, it's still a kick ass demo and my thumb goes up :)
3 (4?) metaballs on a 1mhz processor, ODD is owned ;)
I haven't seen the previous editions of Triage and therefore I could not be bored with that one. The music is not my taste, the effects are quite cool! I could not say if this or the winner of the compo is better. Each one has its highlights.
Oh. My. God.
Excellent routines.
i hate all of you who like this demo. why do you like it ? are you all blind/deaf ?
It's long and it's good, despite recycling. Extra props for the cool music.
Nice!
Rulez so much
Hmm can't decide
Code and Music Thumbs Up
