Really enjoyed this. I wish I gave myself more opportunities to just watch the world go by IRL.
FYI though, gives a black screen when run in 2560x1080.

again not your typical demo. very atmospheric and good looking. awesome soundscape as well.
For the athmosphere
So delicate. The mood is great! Love the harmonies, when it explores chords there's always a surprising note.
(+10 points for the cat, way better than a dolphin or shark).
My favorite in the compo, by a fair margin.

Nagyon szép jelenetek vannak ebben a demóban, menő meg minden. Valamint éljen a post process.
De azért felmerült bennem a kérdés, hogy azok a hinták vajon kinek készülhettek.

Oh YES! Please do more of this!
"but you'll just watch it on YouTube anyway, right?"
Actually i cant find one yet but i saw it at the live stream yesterday! :)

so athmospheric and moody. nice!
should have won. really atmospheric product with one of the best demo soundtracks this year.
.
THE winner for me.
Love this kind of stuff, super moody and let’s me make up my own backstory. Music was great as well. Ace work!
In the 90s the earliest 3D demos were just camera flights showing a few 3DSmax scenes with nothing moving. Today it's the same but with less camera displacement: graphics compo entries packed in a demo. A demo needs not to use physics, but stuff can move like they do in Fulcrum by Matrix or any CG enabled movies.
(the only moving objects was the cleaning robot, but it was behind heads of audience. You have to party code your camera view points when you see the big screen)

This demo is a masterclass in creating ambience. The music is stellar!
Oh, and Archee: how’s that one-trick physics pony you’ve been riding for over a decade? Stale?

Well done, well done - I love the mood, and that it makes me think - demos usually don't make me do that anymore.
Bonus points for the cat <3

very moody, very cinematic, very nice music.
nicely done. great atmosphere. great music.
For me, the winner of the compo!

Exactly what Gloom said!
On the top of :
Lately we have had some differences in what we find artistic, exciting or just "beautiful" ( usually about the 64k entries @Revision :) ), but this entry man... Absolutely the darkest, most gloomy entry I've ever seen from you. You were 100% able to show what does it mean to be ALONE. Loved it from the first until the last second.
The WINNER OF THE COMPO for me.

OOOHHHH SIIICK BUUURN!!
But about this demo: kinda like Darkness Lay Your Eyes Upon Me, but wetter, more pensive, less ominous. I like the subtle integration of scene-poetry into signs without going as far as CNCD/FLT stuff. Very good scene design.

on GeForce 1060 and R7 580; should run 60ish in 720 on those [...] the miracle that is Substance Painter
Excuse me but did you by any chance upload the wrong version?! Because the version I just downloaded and watched looked like 90s CG that should run with 60 fps on an Intel HD 3000. The demo itself would be awesome if it werent for the the lo-fi rendering that is just too distracting for me to get into the mood.
youtube please
beautiful
i got very painterly vibes from this (although that's the wrong word). for its short length it evoked a lot of feelings and had a good reflective atmosphere. really nice!
also "THE DUCK" made me laugh

Szavakkal nem tudom leírni milyen érzéseket váltott ki bennem ez a demó.
Boring and ugly textures.
Very atmospheric and mature
interesting graphic-style, and nice touches with the cat & the signs indeed
totally captivating. must and will rewatch it on a decent setup soon.
a very emotional ride, very well covered by the great soundtrack.
and in my book the compowinner.

We had a great time (partly melancholic) watching this best demo in the compo, or even the best one of slow-paced static-scenes moody demos.
<3
Lately, ÜD demos tend to be more impressive the more you watch them, both on a technical and on a mental level. Even though semi-static scenes are usually not my cup of tea, this was already very enjoyable at the party and got even better now that I'm watching it at home on my own -- which is quite possibly how it's meant to be watched.
a little sad for me, but ok
Atmosphere, ambience and melancholic mood conveyed perfectly. Attention to some details is amazing.
In my opinion this demo was the most beautiful one. And a giant <3 for the cat :)
Okay so what if. What if. We had a whole demo of watching a rainy street scroll by from the window of a bus. When I saw the screenshot, and the demo did not start on my machine due to some missing DLL, I was really hoping for that.
But hey, there was a cat.
But hey, there was a cat.
Flyby with style. Some scenes didn't seem quite as polished as others, but I enjoyed the general mood a lot. Perfect soundtrack as well.
Beautiful soundtrack. Beautiful visuals. Beautiful memories.
I enjoyed this!
piano tune reminds noby's whitespace
very good camera work
and it looks finished and I like it, one man's work - well done Gargaj ;)

One question came up while watching the prod:
Do the Roomba and the cat get along well?

nice
Gyönyörű, lélegzetelállítóan gyönyörű darab. Kösz, hogy megcsináltad nekünk!
Nicely done Gargaj!
nice shots.
<3
very nice mood :D
nice and boring
Compo winner by a mile for me, great direction and design. More like this!
The winner for me

dat robot vaccuum cleaner
Very atmospheric, great!
Not sure what to think of this one.
I love it
Very mixed feelings. It's too slow, too short, lacks any punch or twist, looks seriously dated and being generally a snore fest. On the other hand thumbs for inspirations and execution. Strong piggy then.
Cat and robot vacuum gets a free thumb.
Decent and slow (not speed). It ran well on my ancient 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC with its ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB of VRAM). I used the demo's lowest resolution in windowed screen.
For the atmosphere. and the cat! :)
Touching, thanks for the experience, Gargaj!
Nice
Azért ez elég fasza.
Dude, where are the cubes, the poorly done quaternion-based camera rotations and the cheap scene poetry?
Thank you
I think about this demo a lot
:)

Great!
Oh man, this is a beautiful piece of demo art!
lovely
Taken me a while to figure out how I feel about this, because initially it reminded me of bad times in my life. The execution is superb, you clearly nailed the technical and artistic targets you set yourself, with exceptionally good rendering and flow to the demo. That's a serious achievement, and it's uncompromising, so I guess having negative feelings from the imagery is also partly the aim of what you were expressing. Loneliness, isolation, and regret are not things I normally want to feel while watching a demo, I have enough of those in the real world, but I can't fault the way in which you show them, nor you wanting to.
Also, there are a lot of little touches mixed into this, the duck I didn't notice until the fourth or fifth time I watched. The music supports the imagery, and at times being almost fading completely from attention, enforcing the idea of life passing by. It's subtle, thought provoking, and will probably stay with me for longer than any other demo I have watched in a decade.

Nice, I like ths kind of ambience.
I love this.

Great production !
Artistic Gargaj personal demo
Calm, but great :)
What should I say about this one. It's a gem! So calm, so many lovely colors, great scenes, such a strong atmosphere and masterful direction. Gargaj created one of the best demo experiences in 2018! Miles ahead compared to all other demos in that compo.
lovely. great colour grading as well. <3
wait, I haven't commented on this so far? the previous comment was meant to be an addition to an existing comment.
athmosphere is everything in this demo - it transports a beautiful melancholic message, just with pictures and a piano. it feels extremely cinematic and reminds me about some sequences within bitter-sweet anime films, which often also transport such an athmosphere with similar frames and composition

should've gotten a nomination for best direction at least
Very good moody and calm
