It's not a second
Seven seconds away
Just as long as I stay
I'll be waiting,
I'll be waiting.

best copy program ever!

note the killsys-switch that kicks out the operating system, so you have more memory for ramdisks.

check out the classic "chaos designs a gui" design. my gui's still look like this, the pixels are just smaller.

@oxb

x-copy was our major tool from end of 1988. till to 1993 where as far as i know cachet did the last release of x-copy, but in the early amiga 500 years ( 1987-1990 )there where so much copy tools back then---

Used it on some floppies where x-copy didn't work.

"F%¤#, can't copy the game!!" "dude, you gotta use Sanity-Copy!".

Wasn't there a tetris-copy thing? where you could play tetris while waiting.

sanity-copy is faster. period.

the final trick to beat XCopy is simple: the first copy copies track 1 to 80. then the second copy has to move the head from track 80 to 1 and start again from track 1 to 80. this makes a lot of noise with the physical drive and costs about 2 seconds.

sanity-copy copies the first disk from track 1 to 80 and the second disk from track 80 to 1, saving 2 seconds.

sanity-copy is faster. period. and it had monty python samples.

I should add that sanity copy was never aimed for copying illegal stuff, so it can't out trick any copy protection. but for legal or correctly cracked stuff it was perfect. the ram disk feature makes a real difference if you need to make multiple copies of multiple disk images.

Well yes the GUI was repulsive. I preferred D-Copy because it was faster and with its rereads it helped me salvage some disks. Rattle Copy was even faster. And then when I had enough ram SuperDuper was the fastest. But X-Copy was THE copy program for Amiga no doubt.

X-Copy was the most used but by far not the best, quite the opposite actually!

Yeah it's like mp3, technically inferior to most other formats but still most widespread.

I remember one copy program that claims to even copy protected floppies...it was widely advertised many computer magazines back in time here in Finland...
If using two floppy drives on an amiga, it managed to do exact copies of Northen protected floppies...

Too bad I've never heard of this one back in the days. Mainly used X-copy as many did.
