Looks pretty good, sounds pretty good. Maybe a bit confusing to use, but I'm no musician and pretty much all the audio tools seem like that.

Possible bug: the drums example seems to render nothing at all.

I'm going to try this over the weekend, but my first impression is: why does everyone feel the need to use "blocky, unreadable, retro-fonts" in tools like these? Why not go for something that's actually usable instead?

Actually yeah what gloom said, the fonts struck me as a poor choice. And the whole UI would be a lot easier with the default appkit stuff instead of the fancy black + white UI. It looks cooler though.

Hey a cool app for OSX!
Realtime synths sound great, but i did not find a way to listen to a song without rendering it... but maybe I'm dumb.

Untel, you're not dumb. :) There was no real time song playback support until today. I just uploaded r332 which fixes this and makes it a lot faster to work with.

And yeah, I'm sorry about the fonts. They were kind of carried over from the GLUT widget thingys I did and used here. An UI revamp is on my todo-list but not the highest priority at the moment..

@firehawk: Oh! I'd just found your comment and dowloaded the new dmg...
All works fine now. Thanks! :-)

Cool!
Lager window will be useful to have more room to groove in "synthesizers" window.

Oh, new version. Thanks for update!
Please, add "Linux" in the platform description here.

Yes, build r384 adds a number of changes, including a supersaw oscillator module and a slightly larger window. :)

I've also released all the source code for Komposter as GPLv2 and it's available via SVN from Google Code. All interested developers are welcome!

I need to dig into this one! tested it quickly now and I really like the virtual analog approach.
