I was in this mini meeting at the 1st day with Antitec. Just a simple scrolltro, nice to see there are other "burned" greek people out there except me who are still releasing something for CPC..

If anyone has found the secret part, please tell me. Ugh,. perhaps it will be more interesting! :P

So let me see if i've got this straight, a still picture and a scroll with a bit of movement gets thumbed up...? Average at best.

TMR: i think that this stuff is coded at the meeting...

BadSector: it's a scroller and the "CPC For Ever" banner wiggles back and forth a bit. That shouldn't be more than a couple of hours easy work from library code, surely.

Yes, the truth is that all demos (and he has done a lot) from these people looks very alike with each other. However, it's always easy to get some nice thumbs up from random people who happened to browse some productions, having not seen other CPC demos perhaps. I got suprised that this demo got so many comments, but it's perhaps because it hangs out at the latest released productions..

At least the scroller is written at the meeting, but released much later, so I don't know about the code. Anyways,. it might be old sources reused. Catloc had the biggest activity on the greek CPC scene btw (over 50 smaller or bigger demos, from 1992 till today, I am missing many of them) even if all of them were mediocre scrollers and rasters and nothing else. Afteralls, the whole CPC scene was about hardware scrollers and rasters and the same effects and very few people are trying to do something diferrent..

Still don't see why it should get thumbed up just because the CPC scene hasn't moved on...

TMR: I agree of course. I would normally thumb it down but Catloc is a friend and so I prefered to not..

The funny thing is that this demo was at the 9th place at the Top CPC demos. (it's not now) It's how things are playing in pouet, especially for small platforms. One finds out accidentally this demo, thumbs it up because he was playing to much Pang on his childhood or because he had a 464 back then, and hasn't seen all the other CPC demos to vote equally. Because it's a very unknown platform, and it just happen for this to remain up, other productions like The Demo or Face Hugger's Megademo haven't got enough votes and stay lower than this (at least a bit ago). Lol,.. I am not arguing with anyone about anything, just mentioning what has fun with pouet charts (and I really laughed out loud when I had seen this demo at 9th place, above The Demo in this morning on the pouet top10 CPC demos). Also, see the C64 charts, Second Reality is very famous but Second Reality 64 is definitelly not the best C64 demo out there and many demos in the list shouldn't be there. However, it's a nice opportunity even for newbies to say their humble attempts at democoding staying a bit on the charts ;)

optimus, i fully agree to that. (people voting because it's rare, oldschool and what not, instead of checking if it's really good or not =)

but well - \ some show their respect to the good machines, so what . ....... .
