Yup, it's a new full-screen graphics-mode that uses nearly all CPU-power to display. Usually the VIC can display only 80x192 with 3 fixed colors per screen and 1 color per 4x16 block. This mode offers 104x256 and 3 fixed colors in each of the 256 lines plus 1 color per 4x8 block. So much more colorful and larger pictures.
The pictures are conversions. The converter itself is a piece of magic not done by me. I'm sure some talented graphician could even improve on those and fix some conversion bugs that are hard to avoid.

That's pretty impressive for a vic 20.
The vid was a requirement of the compo and the archive has been uploaded to scene.org by the party people I guess (not me). I will put a version without the vid, but with the source-code and probably some more pics on the VIC-20 Denial forum soon.

Thumb up for experimentation with new graphics modes. I've been following the development of this on the Denial forums, and it's great to see a little prod to show it off.
I like this sort of palette and resolution boundary smashing on the old machines.

the Graphics routine has been revealed a year ago (i think) and already spawned a editor i toyed around with. Finally someone converted some examples for this mode. Too bad the editor needs the maximum expansions on the vic(i dont have)...
I've got to correct you, there's no editor for this mode (yet?). You may think of the FCB-mode by tlr, who has also done an editor for that mode, but that's a different horse altogether.
