1600 blocks of text, most of it ripped. Wacek, Wocek and Lacek in the charts. No mention of Floppy. Another fine fake release from the Scene World gang.

@puterman

That's not true!
The only text really from net is Wotnau's Forever party report and this is even not because we haven't got any better one, because Drake did also one, but we thought, it would be anyway nice to have 2 different points of views in

The rest are news!
And we really do not rip off our magazine just to make it bigger!
There are people which will never like our magazine, doesn't matter how much we improve or change.

It's all a matter of taste but of course everybody is entitled to his oppinion.

Thank you very much
All the best!
Bye!
Joerg

Scene World rulez!
rulez added on the 2003-04-29 21:45:49 by Optimus Optimus
Nafcom: That's bullshit and you know it. You're saying you wrote the news chapters? No way you did, you copied all the text from c64.sk. The same goes for other "articles" in the mag, ripped from the web and mailing lists.

And I see you you're not trying to defend yourself regarding the charts thing. I guess that means you know you're doing a really bad job, and I suppose you don't care. After all, it's all about taste, right?

It's not about taste. It's about fucking lameness.

To Puterman: I compiled the news!

Please do insult youself instead of me, thanks!
added on the 2003-05-01 19:28:54 by Nafcom Nafcom
ps: Get the meaning of "to compile" and compare with "to write"...
added on the 2003-05-01 19:30:28 by Nafcom Nafcom
It doesn't matter what you call it, the news are still ripped. Other mag editors at least bother to re-formulate the news items, but you've just copied and pasted.

It's not me who's insulting you, it's you who's insulting the fucking scene, with your attitude and your extreme lameness.
added on the 2003-05-01 22:05:48 by puterman puterman
Puterman: the charts would be the same whoever compiled them. People still vote for old productions, old groups and people.

You don't know how many hours of editing I did on the news, removing duplicate/out of date items, adding text, translating etc. If you are going to accuse us of lameness, why are you not saying the same about Domination, which has most of its news text from www.c64.sk?

And by saying "most of it ripped", I would estimate less than a third of the text is "ripped". And I should know because I edited every single word of the issue.

As for your insults to Nafcom, that only shows YOUR attitude. Please stop writing un-necessary rude comments. There is no need. I was ASKED to upload the issue here, but in future I will re-consider. That should make you happy :(

Merman: No, the charts wouldn't be the same if someone who knew anything about the scene had compiled them. If you can't see the problem with the names Lacek, Wacek and Wocek appearing in the same charts, it just shows that my statement that you (meaning the scene world staff) are lame was absolutely correct.

And no, Domination doesn't have most of its news _text_ from c64.sk, like you. The same goes for all the other mags. c64.sk is a good source for scene news, but if you just copy your text off the web, that'll just make you look pathetic.

Wow, only a third of the text was ripped? That's amazing. I've never heard of a mag with as little as a third of the text ripped, you guys are amazing!

And no, I'm not criticizing your mag because I don't want to see it at pouet, I'm doing it in the hope that you'll improve it. But well, I think I know what you'll answer, after hearing it about 10000 before: "lots of people like our mag, everyone has their own opinions".

Puterman:

That's your problem, you want to help us improving, that's in general a great thing, but the way you do it is just insulting, insulting and insulting.
I liked when we met in year 2001 and shaked hand, but I don't like if somebody wants to help by insulting.

And so, we aprreciate your reactions and will to help us (thanks) but please not in a rude way. Is that okay for you?!
I hope it is.
I don't await to get any excuse from you here, that would not fit to your person.

Once again: We appreciate every will and suggestion to help us, but please without insulting us or anybody else.

Word.

Okay, a non-rude reaction; the charts have some glaring flaws, the content ranges from dull to average at best, the news seems incredibly familiar and the outfit *still* can't load and play music at the same time.
added on the 2003-05-02 10:47:14 by TMR{C0S} TMR{C0S}
Well, the charts, the better you can read the votesheets, the better the charts will be.

I will work more on the news for next time, thanks!
And for the music playing during loading: Merman is about to work on a fix of that in May! Hopefully found a solution for issue #8.

Thanks, we are working on it! :)

Nafcom: With your good memory, you should be able to remember that there was a time when I was actually encouraging you. When I did that, you responded to the positive criticism by thanking me, and to the negative criticism by pointing out that opinions are subjective. And that's how you respond to all reactions.

I'm sure an excuse would suit you fine, but really, there's nothing for me to excuse. Maybe you should make excuses, though, and publically apologize for ripping text. That's the least you could do, because you're the ones who insult people, not me. I just point out the obvious, like TMR does.

If you publically stated that you were going to fix the worst problems with your mag (ripped text, the charts, the magsys etc.), and then actually did it, maybe people would start taking your mag seriously. But well, I'm not sure if that would fit _your_ personality.

It isn't just a matter of the votesheets, there seems to be nothing stopping backslapping votes (SWO appears in it's own mag chart, People of Liberty in the top groups list) and nobody is filtering for other stuff as Puterman mentioned. Quirks like that draw into question the position of other people in the various charts.
added on the 2003-05-02 14:36:59 by TMR{C0S} TMR{C0S}
Issue #7 is the best SWO release.

@puterman: C64 productions and news in the last 10 years aren't very frequently. In Germany most diskmag editors working fine at the same target : providing news and keeping the spirit alive.
Imo it's really lamness to attack young productions. You damage the future of the scene.
rulez added on the 2003-05-05 08:54:35 by CBMhardware CBMhardware
For better understanding : POL is an international scene group. It was only an example.
SWO isn't a young production, not after seven issues. And i'd disagree that pointing out some very prominent flaws in it are going to damage the future of the scene even in the more abrupt way Puterman did.

If i were making a tit of myself, i'd want someone to tell me (and they have in the past, before anyone decides to again =-)
added on the 2003-05-05 18:42:54 by TMR{C0S} TMR{C0S}
He criticized most Breakpoint releases and much more. Mostly worst feedback at all.
I think the very prominent flaws will be fixed in the future.
If not, be sure : we are not perfect; sometimes to busy to fix the lack; will try it again.
Then we'll see how much gets sorted for issue 8... =-)
added on the 2003-05-06 09:10:24 by TMR{C0S} TMR{C0S}
We are definately working always on improving and fixing bugs of magsys and of course some other things. I anyway think we already improved in comparance to the previous issues. Maybe we will never back like you TMR or Puterman wishes, maybe we just do not need the mag you just prefer to read.
And thanks for not calling us young after seven issues, I see this as a big compliment! :)
Thanks! :)

We all do what we can do!
