Nice demo. :) One issue though: it suddenly stops rendering at some intervals - had to restart first time, then could resolve it by minimizing/maximizing.

Deserved a better placing; sadly we could only run it in windowed because the projector couldn't take the resolution :/ (Perhaps it's time to write a detours-wrapper?)

as for the no-libcaca, I'd love to point out the subpixel "antialiasing" that I'm pretty proud of. But at the same time, if I have to point it out, I failed the demonstration somewhere :)

Great invitro. You can see it's inspiration in compo entries: a blue sky gradient there, a cityscape there. Definitely got me to start working.
Love the animation! The fish-eye-lens train with graffiti is a bit of a callback to Media Error. A darn travesty it finished last place.
