Veit jalat suustani:D it sure does kick major ass!
I actually built a LPT-DAC just to hear the music from this demo =)
I had one of those LPT-DAC's too. But I woulnd't say this is one of the best demos ever (but it was good).
knockout!
Download it at
ftp://ftp.hornet.org/pub/demos/demos/1990/megademo.zip

rox
loved it at its time
I also made a LTP-DAC! :-) It was really cool...
yeah!
Rools
ROCKS!
not
Probably the first PC I ever saw. Brilliant. Megademos will rule 2005!
These were the times my friends...
Anyway, the first music is a 'remake' :D of Jean Michel Jarre - Chants Magnetiques 2.

How the hack did I not commended on that. I could change it to one of my coup de cours right now!!! EGA and bleeper sound!
LOADING AND DECOMPACTING!
the original and the best
it is 2006 , watched it in Mind Candy. superb!
One of the coolest demos for PC!
great effects for ega, but too much stuff... PC speaker rocks.
EGA!
Dies on me with the message:
"Some of our megademo files is screwed up! Please get a new copy!" :(. Using DOSBox 0.72.

Ok, seen it now. Nice stuff for 1990.. when PCs were still shitty gray boxes. :)
Oh so great.
The first demo I ever saw.. ACE!
Even in 1990 this would have been pretty lame compared to the Amiiiiiiiiigaaaaaaaaaa scene. Took PC a while to catch up, it seems.
true, this one was never bringer, it was even crap at the time it came out
First song ripped from Jean Michel Jarre, Magnetic Fields part 2. Lame :p
Cant belive i havent thumbed this up yet.
Rather lame indeed!
:D
quite lame..
Commodore & Atari systems had way way better demos at this time.

This Thing RULES! But I can't find another Demo that Runs with EGA.
All Demos need VGA-Cards :-(((((

OINK!
This would be a thumbs up prod in 1990, but not a thumbs up prod today.
Dosbox compatibility info:
Some of the MOD files will play back at an incorrect pitch. The pc speaker music (Please wait while loading and decompacting) plays back fine. Some graphics are corrupted. I'd avoid dosbox and use a real machine if I were you.

damn
good memories
okay, one of the early PC demos, pioneers, but, man, diz is fucking ugly and the effect are rather simple, so oink ..
Runs great in PCem (AMI 386SX-33, EGA, LPT1 DAC). Some parts are slower to load than the MindCandy capture. @ncovert, how far off is the pitch? The original mod player was a little off to begin with.
Good demo but at least people who made this demo were a little bit lame, as I recently had to discover that the music (yes, all the songs) was actually ripped from:
1. Jean Michel Jarre (Thanks to this comment)
2. n.s beat (from Northstar megademo, albeit with a faster tempo)
3. the song (Uncle Tom)
4. ??? (quite unsure)
5. telephone (Karsten Obarski, different tempo too, and order positions)
6. n.s dreamer (Also Northstar)

Well, it was pretty obvious that all the songs were ripped even back in the day (they even acknowledge some of the tunes in the scrollers).
1. is mod.jarre5 by Jazze, from NS Megademo III (http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=34468)
4. is mod.n.s speedo by Titan/Uncle Tom, from NS Megademo I (http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=34232)
I ripped/converted the mods (as they sound here): https://files.scene.org/view/demos/compilations/demodulate/megademo-tsp.zip
