This should have won the compo. Don't let the word "perl" fool you, this is a real demo and it ownz.

Perl rocks.

Yeah, thumbs up just for fact that it's Perl.

spengler, and how is this fundamentally different from, say, any 3D accelerated demo that you need relatively new DirectX/Detonator/whatever for?

a source code + a music <> a demo
learn how to compile an exe, or do a video file.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read some of those things here. I guess you complain about C64 demos too, if you don't own a C64?

Can't say it rocked, the music was quite horrible, and the text-effects were tired, but can't also understand the deal against perl... I mean, it's pretty cool a demo made in perl is able to compete.. Though next time one may want to use the Perl::Opengl module for extra credits

ah hum, and yeah for the illiterate, perl is pretty standard on unix systems, so no extra stuff to install there..

how come some idiot ask for an exe compiled from perl?

an ok demo, really good development from the previous perl-thingy ravel did.

music syncs would be nice.

Windowz demoz sukkk because I need to install Windowz to run them!!! You should release your demos as ready-to-run Perl or TCL scripts or just release a video file so we too can watch them!

BTW, I was positively surprised by this demo (although it isn't as optimized as it could be)

this was surprising =)

is there any reason why you didn't use the 'COLUMNS' and 'LINES' variables from the shell ? lazy people like me benefit from such things ;)
