And the best way to fight against something you don't like... is to do the exact same thing! Congratulations, you have won.
k
I like rebels and some interesting things in design :)
get into management if you like to tell others what (not) to do, otherwise just fuck off, alright :P
I enjoyed it.
Why not?
What preacher said. But also, what he didn't say: Of course you can lament effect cliches AND make a demo about it, but you need a certain feeling for subtlety/humour/style of your own to convey your point without looking like a fool. :)
talking crap about artistic freedom isn't the best way do demo yourself .. but well .. if you think so .. you pig ;)
What Preacher, Maali and Tomaes said.
This is not all what the scene has done. Even some of the demos who have cubes, tunnels, alpha layers and all the stereotypical stuff (you forgot ribbons and glow) have better colors, more consistent design and other appealing stuff that makes it better from the rest. I am eagerly waiting for your second demo which I hope it won't be... stereotypical.
first off, let me state that arial must die.
secondly, where's da evil bassline and amen breaks?
all in all this wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, but to take the piss out of something, you have to do it from the above, not below.
that said, at least he went and made a demo about it.

Whatever.
I aprove this message.
Independent of the discussion and the message of the demo and stereotyp-stuff: I like this demo and the soundtrack, also good for a first pc prod.
I liked it
There is a bit of truth in the message of this demo. I like it, especially the soundtrack!
I did not like the demo but the msg is true.
but who cares? we are doing whatever we think is fun to make right? not what we think "ppl will dig". Fuckings to lamers

1. respect for using the good old werkkzeug engine (better this way, if anybody cannot code and will show some ideas, and use this tool) as ....
... in some years is the demoscene dead ,that´s fact

Uh huh. Can you write that in whatever language is your native tongue so someone can translate it to English? Because the structure you've used indicates both a prediction and a question - neither of which are methods of stating factual information.
Nonetheless - I did like this production, but I also agree that folks should do whatever the hell they want in their productions. (Which is what keeps the demoscene alive.)

Well, I would appreciate a little more variation in demos. I watched all demoshows on Buenzli and remembering the Breakpoint 2009 PC Demo Compo too, I`m fed up with cubes, brainkilling bassdrums and stuff! So I agree with the basic message.
But there are of course quite a lot of unique demos in 2009, too. Not everything is bad. :O)
Well, to be true most of the demos where the general complain is about acutally ARE good, but to repeat myself, after watching tons of this stuff one might get a little bored...
But for I`m not the minister of demo-contents, put the hell in your demos what you want.^^

Sorry to say - But the use of a demotool whilest complaining about the works of other demoscene artists just ruined it for me. But well...atleast you're creating something. Nice.
Nevertheless it's just a pigface for me.
Panasqnic's demo should have been ranked much better than yours.

fun but don't insult others then do the same things yourself.
Meh.
so, i hope your next prod will show us some original ideas which no one has done before.
this proves nothing
What Shockwave said.
- parody where you don't match the quality of whom you're parodying is ridiculous
- werkkzeug
- werkkzeug
Must. not. thumb. demo. uses. stereotypes. must... not....
(thumb)
Damn.
(thumb)
Damn.
With what you said, i'm surprised you didn't downvote your own prod... ;p I'll help you then!
if (werkkzeug_user != "farbrausch") thumb_down();
I find it entertainting (and somewhat confusing) that a parody prod made my Amiga-people who try to make fun of PC-productions show the kind of things that Amiga-prods are struggling with.
I totally agree with Gloom here, I found it confusing to say the least. First prod pig tho.
You guys are the moral wieners!
Dunno, somewhat pathetic but somehow charmingly naive.
Not good, not bad, the pig is fat \o/

what stinger said
It's has a point. I really liked the music, but I really can't even piggy this, looks like it'd be 10 years old :/
What noby said. Without the point, but with the pig (for the music). Confused? I am, too.
Excellent use of coder colours, a few nice gimmicks in between. Even though it lacks substance, i like it.
I'm with StingRay on this.
It's OK
Nice message, although I think it's shared by a lot of (but not enough?) people. I would have loved to see a second half of the demo where you show new effects! That would have made all the difference. Maybe we will see a sequel to show everyone how it's done? :) But if you use demotool+Direct3D it will be hard, I think.
I liked it when it said "rotating object" and then showed the plant+sign, didn't expect a plant :)

If you want something to be better then go and make it better. Demoscene is the place where you really can do it.
But... I like this music.

I cannot resist and I scream

owned.
Pretty demo, but I get the message. Anyone can make a pretty demo.
Piggy!
Piggy!
Try coding. Its about 1000x harder than using someone elses demo tool. It will give you some perspective.
Quote:
I think is proof of sceners passivity -> yours passivity guys
That's the naivety I meant. Before Buenzli there was Evoke and Assemble so it's not such big surprise that there weren't that many demos released at Bnz.
Assembly even :)
Okay, then make a "non-stereotype" demo. I think that you can use your 3d-skills more than in this prod.
Quote:
- I am whole my life 3D gfx artist (Lightwave), I never did a code and I will never do -> that's why I used demo tool
Anyone can use a demo tool so you have have proved nothing, if you'd used your own code to reproduce the effects then your production would have had some merit.
Quote:
- after BP 09 pc compo which was "terrible" I decided to react -> the message was this demo and it was clear for most of you
How many Werkzeug entries did you see there then?
Quote:
- after 3 months of learning how to do a demo... how would look your first demo???
You destroyed your own argument by admitting that it takes a long time to learn how to do the well known demo effects.
Next time get a clue first. If I could thumb this down again I would.
If you will not learn to code and you have great skills as a 3D artist, maybe you should try joining a group with some coders and design something new and fresh if that's what you want.
I like it
I could go on a rant about fonts and typographical design in demos but I won't.
nope
AAAAaaamiiggaaaa saved it, piggy :)
i have nothing to say about font
Music was ok though
pathetic piece of werkzeug abuse
Quite pathetic demo from lousy sceners.
good message.
demo was pleasant to watch too (and dont blame it because it have been mqde with werkkzeug...)

Pleasant to watch and what a great piece of music!

The theme was really not that -erm- nice and as you already said yourself, it's contentwise and technically not much. So piggy
