At least someone thought to code a cool GUS emulator! I could hear for the first time in my life some GUS only demos with sound!!!
P.S. Have someone thought to make a PC2PC emulator, to be able to run old demos on new machines?!?!? That would be awesome!

PC2PC emulators exist: VMWare, VirtualPC, Bochs, Plex86,...
However, democode compatibility is rather bad, even a Win9x or NT DOS box is better suited for it yet. There are also several projects under development which try to extend the NT/2k/XP DOS box.
