I know about that doc... I just couldn't get horizontal scrolling working (I'm sure some stupid typo)... at least vertical works nicely :)
Iirc, the way I did it when i wanted to scroll part of the screen horizontally was to set the scroll mode to "cell", then just write the scroll value to the scroll table for the plane I wanted to scroll.
