starfield, rasters, pencil anims usually suck... but 1980. whoaah...
it's not a scene product obviously, but ( pouët != scene && scene != pouët ) :-)
imho, if it looks and sounds like a demo, it is a demo :-)

The oldest Demo on POUET now ;)
If this is not a demo, scene please complain about these two ones also:
The 1982, Oric 1 demonstration tape: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5257
And the 1984, Oric Atmos demonstration tape:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5269
For the demo itself, well it's typicaly what you could found out in the old shops. Try to show mum and dad that you can use it for education and personal accounting, while stil hinting little joe that he could probably use it for highcolored exiting arcade games :D

Cute :)
cool
Umm, the first XL, the XL1200, was released in late 1982, and the XE later still, so if this demo is for Atari XL/XE I would think it was released no earlier than 1982. Or is it an Atari 400/800 demo?
wow rasters ;)
mermaid: correct- it's for 400/800. those machines were announced in december 1978, and available in quantity by november 1979. the advertised game ("star raiders") was also released in 1979.
Clearly a product dealer demo, but one of the many diverse influences behind the birth of the demoscene, and an influence perhaps not acknowledged until now.
@mermaid: Don't pull down the great Displaylist-Interrupt hardware-programming of the A8 by calling them "rasters" :-P
hmmm... I wondered if this may be the source why we are all here @ pouet?
It's the shit!
Gotta revive this design style
:)

"we have computers which can beat your computers!"
OMG, THAT is a long time ago!
I was just now transported to myself at 11, with my hands pressed against the glass window of a store in Poughkeepsie, NY, watching this play (with no music, I didn't know it had music!) until my mom screamed at me to get into the car. Awesome.
A classic !
Hey guys, get me right link please.
old gold :)
Colors <3
part of history and now I understand better why some Atari prods are seen as awesome in comparison
Historical!
8x8 font, raster bars, outline of US which could of used as a basis for a game.
What is the music for the production? Is it a Vivaldi piece?

if this prod is a fake, some info is false or the download link is broken,
do not post about it in the comments, it will get lost.
instead, click here !
... but I guess this will cause some discussions if "this" is really a sceneproduct :D
