All software production, needs a fast computer or your cat will choke, enjoy

Crashed my X.
(Ubuntu 6.10)

Nice effects, I love the tunnel with the teddy bear, the rest is TOO slow.
kudos for releasing the source.
(ran fine here, Debian)

MILF club more like it..
Why does it need such a fast processor for oldschool effects? I've seen everything there running on amiga years ago I think, although in lower res. And it's not totally smooth on 3ghz xeon?
Nothing to do with xmas where is the fantasy?
100% ASM
"Nothing to do with xmas where is the fantasy?"
Exactly. Plus most computers have gpus now so why bother with software rendering that needs fast processors?

What you get when your coders suck :-).
At least they made a linux binary.

software rendering is needed in order to be elite, you wouldn't understand.
there is no need to comment my vote, you already understand what it takes to be elite
you can't be an optimus, quit trying.
does not run on my windoze,
does not run on my linux..
shame on you

Debian x86_64 here. It ran without problems but it was quite slow for what it was showing.
Not a good demo, but I gather it's a first try so keep working! :-)

1997 effects that require 2010 hardware to run smoothly? Sign me up..
The eclipse was nice, but thumbs down for the attitude and the wasted cycles.

Would have rocked in 96'
worst prod ever..
especialy the gfx

1. The effects are meant to be slow on your systems. That is because (a) you dont have our monster cpus to play with, (b) Nothing in this prod is fake. You don't have to trust me on this, just look at the code.
2. Where are the amiga (or '97 pc) demos that feature phong shading, normalmaps and realtime perlin noise?
3. Therefore we are elite.

wow... they have normalmaps. thats überelite...
@ug:
polygon rasterization = fake raytracing
therefore, your whole prod is fake :-)
and besides, fake-and-fast > true-and-slow

BadSector:
let me use some of your new exciting logic :
writing in a bbs about a prod = fake (speaking your opinion about it)
therefore in your real opinion we rule!
thanks thanks!

polygon rasterization is NOT fake raytracing, they are two different techniques to render 3D objects, your argument doesn't even make sense...
Also, we rule, all you people suck, eat my shorts.

ohhh.
There are some effects that runs smooth enough here, it's only two-three being a bit slow, though they display some interesting 3d effects which I rather like, like the bump mapped floor or the phong amiga ball. I also enjoyed the return of the slimer cube in texture =)
Congrats for the fact that it is the only demo with effects in the contest.
Next time when you release code , add the GPL (or your licence of choice) statement in the beginning of all source files.

yes please add the GPL. As if anyone would even consider ripping this...
No...no!
linux support
- Some effects are slow even for dual core, 1.83 GHz processors. So it fails.
- You haven't watched many Amiga (or '97 PC) demos, it seems.
- Therefore, you fail.
