Nice smooth DirectX realtime mandelbrot set zoomer in 4KB!

Didn't liked it that much, cause the changing of the texture is very obvious..

Yeah, the layers didn't blend smoothly at all. Just kinda flipped from one to the next. Not exactly esthetically pleasing.

Yeah the texture switch is ugly but it's a nice job overall, and it goes quite deep down there!

Why don't you do it like Triton did it in Crystal Dream II, and TBL did in Perfect Circle? Should fit in 4k easy I think... (Requires more precalc perhaps? but the result is smoother)

it was alright, but there was a noticeable pause everytime the fractal was updated.. no fullscreen mode either.. plus, even though it allegedly zooms to near infinity, it crashed after about 6 minutes of running it in the background.. so no thumb.. a fullscreen mode would've been nice..

What packer do you think he used?

Scali: CD II doesn't run on my Win2K and Perfect Circle is an Amiga demo, so I can't run that either. I don' tknow if those productions are computing the M-set in real-time, but they certainly aren't using D3D nor are they 4K in size.

steps between the zoom are few smooth
the more you wait, the more it's slow

But it could be better i think - maybe less high res + smoother steps?

Fractals are beautiful, but as a zoomer, this is just bad
