some articles will appear a bit dated, especially to those who follow the atari scene on a regular basis. but considering how long it's been in development this hardly comes as a surprise. anyhow, definitely worth a look for anyone with even the vaguest interest in the atari scene.

WOW! These panels rock!!! Any emulator that is able to run it? I would really like to read it!

Panels look very much alike the graphics from the classical hammergame CHAOS ENGINE by the Bitmap Brothers. Man, that was a cool game!

How fast is alive.prg supposed to load? I guess I've already been waiting for more than two minutes.

ghandy+adok: you need to emulate an ST with 2Mb of ram

p01: Thanks, that makes it work. (I'm using TOS 1.02 UK version, BTW - maybe this matters too.)

this one kicks like a bassdrum :) menu graphics are by mic/dune. indeed, similar to the style of dan malone, one of the bitmap brothers' graphicians.

i like the fact that two cool chip editors are released along side this issue and that the contents are really diverse. there's the different styles of cih, moondog and cyclone. indeed this issue provides a nice view into the atari scene for any variety of scener.

good job guys!

adok: try 2+ megs of ram. that worked for me.
ghandy: steem runs it pretty well

Adok: I haven't tried with a TOS below 1.62 ( the TOS of the STe ), so I don't know if you miss something ... I doubt it. At worst the scrolling may be in 2 vbl :p

earx: yep, MIC's interface really has something of Dan MALONE.

I had some problems with Steem under Tos 1.02 but switching to 2.06 wiped them out.

So I could enjoy this nice issue of Alive. Keep on the good work guys...ATARI !!!

Certainly a nice read - too bad it's too fat for my 1040STFM.
But it worked ok in Hatari with 2MB of RAM and TOS 2.06.

Had more time to browse through it tonight, it's a good fat issue once again! Concerning the awesome interface graphics, Mic shows once again how skilled he is!

Evil put up a page a while ago about how to transfer big files from a PC to a ST: Have a look here.

Thanks to ps I was able to check out this issue. Awesome panels! Or did I maybe already write that?? ;-)

Some articles were very nice to read, keep up the good work! Seems they totally dislike BP which I cannot really understand but maybe it's better (for them) that they have their own places to meet. Dunno...

Ghandy, as the main orgo of the Atari Easter party I can assure you that the motivation to organise our event has nothing whatsoever to do with Breakpoint. We had such parties at Easter long before anyone ever mentioned the word "Breakpoint" or even "Mekka" or "Symposium", and we see no reason to change our tradition. There are dozens of other parties all year round where we can meet people from other scenes, and many of us take that opportunity. Do we really have to do the same at Easter? I think not.

Great big issue of Alive - it's a bit sad that UCM seems to be put onto the shelf and only seen as a part of Alive - but hey that makes Alive alot better, so good for Alive, bad for UCM. The only thing I miss in this issue is the big intro that were supposed to go with it..

Havok:You do not have to do anything mate, that's your decision and it's okay for me.

I just think it's a bit sad that there's such a big seperation between the different platforms. I'd also like to speak with people outside of the Amiga Scene and each year I enjoy the BP with all the C64, PC and the very few Mac Sceners. I'm not only interested what's going on in the Amiga community, that's why I from time to time read mags from other platforms, install emulators, exchange emails with people from different computer scenes etc.

What I'm also searching for is inspiration how to make my own diskmag (Jurassic Pack)better. And those panels in Alive were simply OUTSTANDING!
