kinda nice, though the first effect seems slightly buggy. ah well.

It runs fine here mnemonix, and the stairway scene looks great.
tell me when you fixed it mnx :)
Crashes on P3+GF2+Win98... I guess you didn't try here either :)
Hmm first effect has a very obvious bug, the syncing is somewhat poor, music is ok, oh and it's mislabeled as a 64k when it is in total 387k.
The only reason this isn't getting a thumbs down is cause I think I might rip one of those effects.. :)

Factory, you're talking out of your arse!! The intro *is* under 64k.. so they included the crt, big deal? the only reason for that is because they have used Visual C++.NET for development and most people won't have the latest runtime dll's yet.. there aren't many 64k's nowadays that don't use the old msvcrt.dll to trim the .exe size down (without having to drop default libs completely or roll their own crt) since msvcrt.dll comes with Windows anyway.. so its safe to use the old /MD instead of /ML in your linker settings without having to distro the DLL.. dumbass ;)
Anyway.. the intro itself.. well.. apart from the obvious bug in first effect.. and the intro being short.. its a nice intro.. it was worth the download.. but short of a thumbs up.. sorry.
just my 2p :)

Does not work here either :(
P4,GF2,W2k.
P4,GF2,W2k.
That demo did not run.
P2,GF2FX,Win98
P2,GF2FX,Win98
Quite ok intro. Runs nice on my pIII-450 with w2k and tnt2
Nice music. More effects next time, please...
Works here as well (p3-1ghz,gf2,winME)...
Nice intro...the spiral stairway & fx looks kinda nice. But I also would like to see more effects and design next time...
So it's an 'ok' intro for me this time...

works on my hardware.. but doesn't work in terms of design or technical perfection or general amazement. just an another generic intro.
The demo was nice to look at, and I quite like the spherical objects. But the few attempts at syncronizing effects with music didn't really work for me. They seemed more like an afterthought and weren't very effective.
hey particles floating outside of their bounding cylinder :)
sulf: whilst it was just only the crt, 64ks are not generally considered 64ks unless they can be run with only what is already supplied by the os. This is not the case here.
Hmm and using vc7 is no excuse, it is quite capable of using the normal msvcrt.dll.
Oh and your mother wears army boots. :)

factory: PLEASE stop this bullshitting... We've been over and over and OVER this so many times since I can remember every time something new entered the scene like GUS, WIN32 etc etc etc ET FUCKING CETERA! Please stop .... eyes ... bleeding!
allow me to go over this once again.
factory, you fucking bullshitting blindfolded misinformed IDIOT.
from your point of view using msvcrt.dll with its funky importlib (which about every windows intro does.. except from those nutcases who think it's smart to write their own compiler-required functionality which saves about a few hundred bytes) is okay.. but when it comes to supplying a new version of EXACTLY THE SAME KIND OF DLL which isn't widely spread yet you all of the sudden start to moan. when you install a clean win95 (one of the first versions) you will lack the current msvcrt.dll too. anyway nothing wrong with using it since visual c's compiler automatically uses a few crt functions. if we'd look at things from your silly stupid fucking point of view it would be wrong to use ANY kind of dll and thus it would be wrong to use functionality offered by the OS itself (ever checked d3d8.dll's filesizes?).
learn how things work or SHUT THE FUCK UP please.

I'm drunk
mnemememoxmomomxix, try scene.org.
plek: hmm what can I say.. dx versions are essentially part of the platform of windows, as is msvcrt.dll, 64ks should be 64k in total size, and there is nothing special in this intro that requires anything apart from them..
Great prod!
so where's the fix? upload it to ftp.scene.org/incoming/parties/2002/woest02/intro/ if you got it.
musik and style was good.
however, I don't liked the color.
