Talk to the thumb.

What was that all about ? Let me sum up :
Ultra-low framerate, which jumps up and down,
Unshaded, jerky, crude textured and even worst uv'ed polygons that would still look bad in the first opengl 4k's back in 99 (the music is also straight from that era),
A handful of particles that get in the way and serve no other purpose but to annoy,
'Reflections' in 512x512 token 'render to texture' effect, that look aliased as hell and probably with the wrong projection,
The nice idea of using the (crowd pleasing) dancer is also ruinned by unimaginative 'cubes' used for joints, and a (what looks like) precalculated 'explosion' at the end.
Unless there is something wrong with my system, the scene after that explosion is just 5 particles rotating on a black background.
At least if it was a new NextEmpire demo, it would be slightly more interesting (for the wrong reasons..)
As for the music sounding 99, haha, we tried to go for the old 93 sound with 2005 production, so I'm not sure if 99 is what strikes my mind. ;] And it's meant to be a friendly track, not a dark hardcore rinseout - we can do that too, but not just this time... we were feeling the spirit of the spring. ;> Anyway, I'll let the coders get back to you with feedback on your other comments.
Sorry...
No need for pixel shaders for what you show (where are you using them btw? :D).
The reflections of the floor were just wrong.
If you're recursion to create the reflections, consider cutting unneeded branches (eg, if there's only two visible mirrors, no need to calculate the others on the 1st pass - and this halves the problem) and lowering the depth.
If you're using a more 'crude' way like stenciling with multiple 'real' rooms - why is it soooo sloooow? :D
Nice effort - but terrible result.

Come on, it wasn't that bad. Not the best demo ever, but nice try, and deserves the thumbup.
nice code, but quite ugly. looks like a coder-only production
even though it's not as pretty as it could have been, i like this demo. :)
This look even worse than my stuff :(
But there are a handfull of good ideas that deserves better execution.

I just can't watch this. Really.
I have seen worse, and it was quite nice ideas. So it gets an ok,
Mostly liked it, some nice ideas but the frame rate was choppy in places and the sprite/particle things in the end flying around aimlessly kind of spoiled it for me.
Weak thumb.
Weak thumb.
Regarding the flying glow particles in the end -- it's a compo thing. We didn't want our demo to end with a jump back to Windows on the bigscreen. So we just left the particle system running. It worked out well at the party but may seem odd now. Sorry.
Ugly.
Navis I really don't see how any of this would be crowd pleasing :P

Most of the stuff was reused from Hallucinations I guess so I don't see any coder-candy which wasn't shown before...
Oh well, at least they didn't credit graphicians :D

ugly in all aspects
it's ugly and i'm tired, so sorry.. oh and wtf does that matterhorn texture there in your data directory? ;-)
For our next demo, we have recruited two graphicians - expect a more "complete" production for Assembly 2006. ;]
good ideas, bad using
Doesn't work here :/
you had some good code at least...
Looks a lot like 1998 "my first hw acelerated demo" style, enjoyable anyway.
