Typical techdemo: shows some (nice) effects but cannot entertain you. Will be outdated soon.
Every time againg I am surprised how bad pixelshader stuff looks my card (fx5200).

2) Crashed this Ati Radeon 9600 Pro here, after the 2nd effect. Black screen and then teh soundcrash (Tah tah tah tah tah tah tah endlesly. No Alt+Tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del or Escape)

Optimus: strange, i have a 9600se, with 53.03 driver. Sorry for that.
I know that software did raytrace better years ago, and i am not at all content about what i coded. I thought that i can get out more of GPU, and after my failure (even 4x4 optimization made it slower) i just wanted to show that i have tried a new tracing method, in which i think i was the first. I hope that later, with pixelshader 3 with flow control and multiple render targets (i didn't succeed to use it on my card), this method can overcome software raytracers.
And sorry for the ugly resolution of the bitmap effects, those could have been in full resolution, not in 256x256. And for the ugly textures :)

i also have a 9600 (a pro to be exact) - and found a solution to the crash. don't even touch the clock registers of the card... it may be a bug in pstrip/rivatuner or catalyst or both of them, dunno, but if i o/c my vcard, it will crash, even if i set it back to its stock frequencies.

really nice effects, but a BIG thumb down for using the pinball fantasies soundtrack.
Well, i'm so sorry, but this is crap. I wondering about that every demo uses custom shaders look worse than a simple dos software rendered proggie from 1998 !!! There are so many demo uses fixed shaders and look much better than these. This is bad.bad.bad.bad and bad again...
just let me know if you implement a raytracer on fixed shaders. Anyway, did anyone notice that this is a raytracer implemented in an environment which is not able to run algorithms (simply because it doesn't have proper conditional jumps)?
