horrible

Truly don't know what to make of this.
Hoodlum certainly are capable of much, much better. And I seen way more cohesive Amiga OCS prods, so AGA doing this is baffling.

Nice cracktro with a looped chiptune.
Although the wireframe tunnel would look better with anti-aliasing lines.
I like that logo very much.

nothing extraordinary, in fact quite solid, but nothing "horrible" either, i don't get the resentment here from bitl who is usually a very reasonable and non-troll-like poueter. i think it's pretty cool that stratos, who's one of my alltime amiga ascii legends from the 1990s, has taken up coding, and deserves all encouragement.
so, hoodlum is releasing amiga warez again? exciting news!

hi bit! what is horrible about it? the tunnel, the text or just everything? please be clearer, when instulting please
- The tunnel is just a cycling animation (using a palette?), with rough, torn-looking lines.
- The logo is just a damaged version of the 1994 logo (sloppily converted with reduced colors and without any further refinements). I wonder whether it was angelDawn who did this, or the coder?
- I don’t like the music, but that’s a matter of taste. Besides, it wasn’t even made specifically for this release. Is the author even aware of this
- The text. Well, to begin with, you listed the music author incorrectly. The font is ripped as well.

dipswitch, I’m usually a nice guy. But I just don’t understand what is there to praise here?
I would’ve stayed silent, of course. But I love the old Hoodlum cracktros, many of them are wonderful. That’s why this screw-up really set me off.
Come on, the fighting is not necessary. Its OK prod for a crack.
stRAtOS!: do not let the comments here pull you down, please continue learning Amiga etc :)

Calling my production a screw up, who the fuck do you think you are, your are a small beeing, a small prick you are. Must be true helll, waking up everyday with that brain on your head and that personality, an reallly unsercure man. pathetic man!
Why are you insulting me? I haven’t insulted you. I said that your cracktro is crap. And the Amiga’s limitations have nothing to do with it. This is my personal opinion, and I have the right to express it.
You asked me to describe in more detail what I don’t like, and I did.
But you reacted like an overdramatic kid and started throwing insults at me.
And I didn’t even give it a thumbs down, lol.

bitl is fucking stupid
You sound like my ex.
P.S.:
I don’t think you spent a lot of time or effort on this product (otherwise it would probably be better). That’s why your reaction to criticism is out of proportion. Be honest, how many hours did you spend working on it? You’ve probably spent more time replying in this thread than making it.
There were times when people called my demos and intros crap, even when I really did put a lot of effort and time into them. It was hurtful, but I never started drama over it. After all, this is the demoscene, not Instagram with glamorous girls.
And keep this in mind for the future: if no one tells you that your prod is crap, but no one really says anything at all (aside from a couple of comments), then most likely the prod is crap. People are usually just too lazy to tell you.

Please insert [rolleyes] here.

"- your demo sucks."
vs
"- you're an asshole."
There's a difference, right?
In the first version, I don't think the author is crap. He might actually be a really good person. But even a good person can make a shitty demo :)

So congrats. from this day to mine or yours last days on this earth. i will treat you as an asshole, with my deep assholeness!!
Well, that’s it. Guess I’ll have to go live as a hermit in a monastery now.

You want me to start critique your body of work?
I can’t exactly forbid you.
But you’d have been better off putting that much effort and mental energy into a good demo-effect.
stRAtOS!, I’ve already realized that you’ve got a few screws loose, no need to keep proving it to me.
I shouldn’t have even left my first comment here, I didn’t intend to start any drama. Too much honor, really.
You can relax, I won’t be leaving comments on any of your other releases.
Goodbye.

completely unnecessary tone from both sides.
stratos, why do you take everything so personal? this is not 1995 anymore. one doesn't need to protect one's "leetness" with big mouth talk anymore.
bitl, if you would have written at least a couple of sentences of detailed, on-point critique, like you actually did a couple of posts later, instead of just dropping one judgemental word, i'm sure it would have been perceived differently by the prod author. the demoscene is a small, close-knit community, a prod is not some social media post where you just pass by, drop a pile and walk on. tbh, i would also have been sad and offended if i was a beginner coder who already achieved some decent results, and then a more advanced coder walks past and just drops an arrogant one-word judgement without any explanation.
i'm not arguing for no critique at all, i'm just saying that we're all real people with real feelings, and in fact the chances are quite big that we all meet in person at a demoparty one day. the scene is small, smaller than it used to be. and unlike many other digital cultures, it's built on personal connections. so let's treat each other accordingly, not as anonymous internet avatars but as real people who share the same hobby and can talk properly to each other, ok?

But the barrage of swearing and insults only started after I explained my grievances in detail.
I want to clarify: I don’t consider myself an advanced coder. Besides, I’m not an Amiga-coder, so stRAtOS! is automatically an infinitely better programmer than me when it comes to the Amiga.
My complaints aren’t about the code, but about the attitude toward the release. And this isn’t his first intro, so you can’t say he just doesn’t know how things work. He simply seems to think, “It’ll do as it is.” No need to pack it in a zip, no need to include an info file. The logo can be roughly converted, with reduced colors (without any manual touch-up to restore the dithering that was lost).
If there are ugly, torn lines somewhere - whatever, it’ll do.
Do you really need to be a top coder to do things neatly and with care?
So, I rated this product negatively not out of arrogance, but because I see sloppiness. The guy could have done better, but maybe he was just too lazy? Or maybe he was in a big hurry? I don’t know.
P.S.: Does Castlevania AGA really need to be cracked?
I love this production by Hoodlum, the tunnel looks cool! And i Love the music too ❤️, I must say all Amiga releases deserve respect in my opinion! I mean how many demoscene people out there are releasing Amiga intros and demos in 2025? Well said dipswitch i totally agree 💯👍
Badly converted logo and ugly tunnel. Better luck with your next prod.
