The spider-thing is supposed to be the focal point, but the composition really doesn't help make it out. There's just too much detailed visual information to help your brain/eyes actually observe it. A good test is to squint your eyes and make sure it's easily readable (it's not here).
Something like e.g. depth of field, or a different colour/material for the background would really help sell the scene.
