The audio runs circles around the visuals which are basically "here's a glitchy plasma". Lack of visual progression absolutely does not warrant the 7 minutes of running time.
i guess some people learned nothing about ambient demos in 25 years.
very underappreciated on the party voting, i would hazard a guess that people got annoyed from it having to be screened 3 times to be played properly + slow pacing makes it feel like it lasts longer.
i for one totally loved the dark mood on this one, minimalartifact seal of approval all the way.
love the glitch and clicks and cuts on the audio, stellar work for 4k synth. it gave it a somber introspective mood that was hypnotizing. and the visuals matched great with the abstract emotional progression of the whole thing.
hugs to wrighter, looking forward to part 3

I love this one. The whole time it seems you are almost looking at b/w-photos or -scenes but then it changes and dissolves to something different. Glitch-sounds are ace too!
7 Minutes in the wrong hands can feel like an eternity.
............! awesome .. vulnerable .. moving .. abstract.. real .. thank you again wrighter.. easily the best 4K of this party imo ..
the direction lacks evolution/resolve but i still like it. soundtrack makes me think of the first Alien movie
That's a worthy sequel. I can kind of understand that this might not be for everyone, but I enjoy it. It takes the time it needs, sucks you in and starts to inject a variety of feelings. You have to get involved with it for it to work, but I think it warrants the 7 minutes if you do. Very much looking forward to part 3 as well.
would definitely work well on a media art exhibition but seems that it's still not pairing well with the scene. Having this one for 7 mins while others in the compo are being flashy and short might be painful for sure. Still, I hope the scene is open to such creation. Please keep doing this. I appreciate your attempt.
I defo liked this one more compared to the last one.

ts so peak, my goat frfr ngl
Love the sounds in this one. Autechre 4ks rule!
I rewatched this at home with proper headphones, sober and focused, and it blew me away. The visuals are pretty much on the spot, and oh boy do i love the audio on that one. Crazy production value. It's one of those works that doesn’t quite translate to the big screen at a demoparty, but as a standalone piece it’s awesome. Is it too long? Yes. Does it need to be that long? Absolutely.

Release it outside the scene then. Simple, problem solved.
Do a 4k still but do not attempt to even advertise on Pouet, Demozoo, etc. Just do a YT video and a link to the executable or on X. The people then managing the "scene" databases can decide if its "sceneworthy" or not >_>. Seriously.
Thumb for trying something cool at least. Keep going.

Worst. That'll be a massive cultural loss as a scene.

Maybe, but if people really feel that strongly to things not being worthy of being in their scene, maybe its the only way?
My inner graphics programmer kinda agrees with Gargaj here but my inner ambient demo enjoyer and especially my inner synth coder can't just not love this. Absolutely fantastic track, especially when listened to with headphones where all the details come out.
That said, the way this intro was shown at Evoke was basically the worst case scenario (not blaming anyone in particular here, everyone involved knows what went wrong), and it should probably have ranked higher. So I'm joining the "keep it up" bandwagon :)

I am sorry that the way it was showed at the Evoke destroyed our first experience of it. I rewatched it at home and liked it a lot, inasmuch I found it very spooky, and in the end, frightening. A big *hug* to wrighter and congrats for this great dark ambient prod.
