Hi all,
I'm the author of this release, Gazza.
I don't remember a lot about this release but I do recall I wrote a blitter sprite engine to draw that 'GAZZA' characters. The engine actually stored the underlying background of each 'sprite' and redrew that background when things moved.
It's actually not an efficient way to do things. It's would have been better to damage the entire background and redraw that whole Factor 4 logo than blitting back the background in the specific places it was damaged. I can't remember why I did it this way, I'm sure I would have had my reasons!
Cheers,
Gavin (Gazza)

I love this production! Credits for the music goes to David Whittaker because it's ripped from the Amiga 500 game Aquaventura see here:

Quote:
"This game had been under development for almost half a decade. Copies of a demo version of Aquaventura with the first two levels were available sometime in 1989. Though it had a lot of bugs, it featured the usual high quality graphics from Psygnosis with an animated end sequence as well as some music from David Whittaker. That version of Aquaventura was one of the first games to use the "vector ball" technique even before it was ever used in any kind of Amiga "scene" demo. Unfortunately the game released in 1992 looked (and sounded) completely different than the appealing demo version released years before..."

This intro feels like a time capsule — raw, honest, and full of the spirit of those days. You can see not just technical experiments with the blitter here, but also the joy of creation and a signature personal style. Thanks for the reminder that the demoscene has always been a place where even the simplest ideas could leave a mark.
