What's the secret to getting 4096 colours on ST (not STe)? 50Hz colour flashing?

This one really threw the projector off during the compo. I'm curious about the details of this 4096 color mode. I don't think I've seen anything like that on ST before.
This demo used a version of the 4096 colours technique.

What Xenon asked.
And - Really 4096? Or close to?

As mentioned above it flicker colours, but the amount of colours on screen is where the real work is. It's an extension of the Spectrum 512 kind of display (made in 1987). It changes the entire palette three times per scanline to achive 48 unique colours every line. Spec 512 did this in 320*199 while Zerkman is doing it in full overscan.
What is really new in this demo is using every scanline available (276) for the image. No syncline at the top (I assume e-clock sync?) and double lower border removal. Hats of to Zerkman for that :)
Cool tech.
Funnily I thought something like had been done before, but certainly not with an e-clock sync.
Also adding text, or whatever, on top of such images at runtime is another level of gymnastics

Photos in this invitro sure look a lot better than the ones in mine...
Excellent music! Nice graphics! Techy! Zerkman involved! Definetly a thumbs up!
