We had the same with Imerso...we were talking in #trsi for many weeks...one day he suddenly quit after saying that was unfair against him or sth alike...no1 had any idea/clue to what happened at all...he thought someone said sth about/against him, no1 ever did so, tho! did AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS exist on Amiga? -
Tweaking autoexec.bat and config.sys was a lot easier than trying to deal with Windows updates :P
