Say I have an unsigned byte in the range 0..255 that I would like to convert to a float with range 0..1 - is there any hack that can do this really fast? I was thinking some kind of bitshift operation and a typecast. In C#. -

graga, shift left 15 bits, add 0x3f800000, cast to float, subtract 1. -
