The onslaught of vibe coded audio plugins is on to us. Every day new plugin! Aaa yeaa.wav -
we all know the problem to creating things is a software problem of course… once we have ALL THE SOFTWARE then we can create -
Nah the problem to creating things is all the nasty artists gatekeeping it from honest engineers by being rude to the engineers and their neutral tools :( -
@Adok: You're right. It depends on the criteria. I meant technological, economical and partly scientific progress. -
Dresdenboy: I might agree with economic progress, but I think scientific progress isn't due to exploitation - it's due to genius. - You sure you understand how science works?
- It's both (hence "partly" - I meant partially): positive human interest or interest driven by money, need for better weapons, etc.
- I've worked in research.
- Doing your own, or…?
-
scientific progress is an oxymoron - The idealism of young researchers is certainly taken advantage of but IMHO it is only justified to speak of exploitation if the worker's life depends on it. For me it was a childhood dream to contribute to science.
- actually that idealism of young researchers dies about ~6 months into their PhD tenure. there's that 'pimple on a circle'-xkcd about that.

I'm getting REALLY tired of... everything. And especially the steady stream of vibe-coded Lets-Just-Ask-Claude shaders at Shadertoy's, shaders that just consistently CRASH my Firefox 3 times a day now. I'm just jealous, obviously ! - I also did research (more tech related). Actually wanted to become an astrophysicist :)
- ...then the war came. From Day One, the military said : "We have this amazing tech since 1960. We can go to the stars, but it's a numbers game out there in the Void ! We need you -ALL OF YOU- if mankind is to endure." So we went. It was the 1st Galactic War... and ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FUEL !

I'm doing my part! - I'm doing my fart !
- I'm AIing my port!
-
I fart my part. -
How many times can the “browser ports” thread be closed, I wonder - The more important question is, how many times can it be reopened?
- Certainly casually pulling in nazi-Arch in a video is a pro move if you want a fast closure

- Aren’t LLMs cool and useful? Look at all the content a brand new account is posting on the bbs.
