Just for my reference, did or did this machine not have the MMX instruction set available?
No MMX as it was stated in the oldschool compo specs / rules. - isokadded on the 2018-08-06 22:51:48

That voxel landscape blew my mind how well its used in this demo. The cubemarcher was pretty good but I think there's room for improvement. Really good work with the graphics I just wish the style was more coherent.
Branch <3 It isn't cube marcher btw, it's distance field. I agree with the style breakdown. Many parts had coder colors and lack of color scheme. As usual, deadline came "as a surprise" as u know it ;) there just was not enough time to adjust everything how they should be. That 1st retropart was kind of filler, but the music in that part required me to go back to the vectorbob / raster era :D Next time something completely different and more coherent & modern, that's a promise. We'll meet again I'm sure of that o7
IMO Revision should add this hardware category to their oldschool compo rules. It's just kinda stupid to put Pentium DOS demo to Real Wild competition. I hope Assembly rethinks their Oldschool cancellation plans. - isokadded on the 2018-08-05 21:44:32

- Making this with dream team was so much fun. Altough we had some troubles with the differences between compo hardware and our test hardware = that's the main reason for the laggy parts and lack of speed of those routines. We'll release fixed version with hopefully improved performance + win32 build asap (probably during a week) - it's still a hat trick, 3 oldschool wins @ Assembly in a row :)

- Optimus: Thx mate. I was hoping a dos demo from you but no luck.. maybe next time I hope? Yes you're correct about that 3D space thing. We tried to match it very late friday evening to look like it occupies the same place (keep starting point of tritunnel effect inside the black area in the end of the grid tunnel) but ran out of time as usual, it was 5 am saturday morning when we submitted the party version entry. Same excuses, every time.
TheMechanist: Pentium 133 (no MMX nor univbe required), Midas sound card support. It can run on slower machines, but compo machine was 133 and my test rig was 133Mhz. Few parts will probably stutter if u try to run it with "poorer" hardware. There's Win32 build inside the zip though.
Making this demo with my guys was absolutely a blast. Relax Ants and Malfuctkion were kinda stressful, but this time it was actually filled with more moments of joy than sorrow, except the evernearing deadline. And ofc Roz delivered excellent tune as always.
Let's make Assembly oldskool demo compo great again! - isokadded on the 2017-08-06 17:55:10

- Tidbit: this demo was mostly created backwards, from the end towards the beginning. The credits part and spliced vectors with radial blur were 1st.
