-MS-Dos in 1998.
-MS-Dos backward compatibility (what compatibility?).
-2FDD "Amiga floppies" for 2FHD PC users.
-NC in the time of Dos Navigator roulage.
-Nfo files during Hybrid's initiative of "uninveting" them ;).

-All the speed/tharsh metal after death/black/ddom metal introduction.

A mixture of what others said already.

- everything before AGA, or to say it nonAmiga-ish, everything <32bit Processor
- everything before Trackmos (not as in MegaDemos, which are just different screens loaded one at a time)
- everything without design (haha!)

Design and Music-Video-style is what made a demo newskool back then.
Melon Dezign and Andromeda brought the Design and Scoopex brought the first Trackmo (Mental Hangover) which led to music-synced Effects on a set timeline, Demos as we know em today.
Quote:
we are currently in the process of becoming newnewskool with the transition to opengl es where the hardware itself hardly doesnt matter anymore.

What do you mean by that Maali? I'm not sure open I get it. Open GL ES/WebGL is used in environments with less performance than desktops (mobile devices and web). Wouldn't that make the hardware and the it's limitations matter more? Or are you talking about portability?

He´s about there not being any special hardware-trickery you can come up with as a coder anymore, as the hardware differs per user anyway. (as in illegal opcodes for example)
You can watch such demos under any OS that has access to OpenGL ES/WebGL, on any hardware able to display Graphics via GL.
Now his sentence should make sense to you.
Sure. It does :) So he was talking about portability. It's probably because I've never programmed anything hardware specific that I didn't understand the sentence right away.
