Demos on magazine cover dvd

category: general [glöplog]
good point. however, i see different harm in it: it will give noobs a completely wrong idea about the types of effort involved in making a real demo. this may just alienate them. rather include werkkzeug or something, imho.

I object to oldskooldemomaker as well.

My recommendation is to put in more 64k intros. It doesn't matter if they're a bit older, either, since there have been too few good ones lately.

OSDM will introduce the kids to aesthetic they are mostly too young to understand. We old geezers saw a bunch of scrollers back in the days and can have a chuckle or two (or well, we did for the first two OSDM prods before we were flooded), but the kids will go "blääääh" and forget about the whole thing. Modern things are a lot cooler.

Then they might see references to demoscene elsewhere and go "demoscene? oh yeah those boring things made with that lame software" and that's it.

GajiN: you can take anything you want made by Asm Force, if you'll find something usefull.

chociaż najbliższy numer pewnie już ma listę zamkniętą dawno ;)

I see the point. Ok, werkkzeug goes into line instead of OSDM. But would be much better if someone could write a nice tutorial or "how-to-start" thing. Don't forget that primarly I'm giving this to people who know about demoscene nothing or very, very little. Giving them such a tool is like showing them some cad/cam software - they won't understand a shit.

64ktros, yeah, I love them as we all, but don't foirget about (yeah I'm monotonous) permissions from group's members.

Don't forget also that magazine is for gamers, who want to know something more than cheats and new Sims 2 add-on. Just so you know.

unic0rn - that's true :) Tomorrow will be new CDA with Demoscene #2. Stuff from ASM Force will appear on Demoscene #3.

Dzieki ziom.

If someone want to suggest something to Demoscena #3, those are last days. On 16th of July I'm sending stuff. I've gathered +50mb for stuff, so we've got now 100mb.

NEW SHIT:
united forces - no?
holograms - temptation
some older 64k's
all from rrolla

If you want to support me & demoscene in CD-Action, email Smuggler (maintainer of dvd cover) at cdaction@cdaction.pl and write it's great to bundle some demoscene to CDA.

GajiN: have you spoken to Smash already?

As far as the productions from UKScene Allstars that myself, smash, and devistator worked on (Route 1066, Falling Down) i personaly have no problems with you using them for inclusion in any future issues... I cant speak for Smash and DVS however so i'll check with them both tomorrow, although i'm almost positive they will have no issues with it either.

Thanks, uncle & keito. I stopped sending endless mails to sceners, because no one (except two or three persons) have answered. I still hope no one will kill me for bundling this stuff.

ok GaijN, there's no problems with you including our demos on cd, Smash and DVS are fine with it also :)

how about this: you should always automatically post the pouet "top of the month", and then the groups can approve or not. Maybe the easiest solution for all?

and then you can still dig in the archives.

Brilliant.

maybe do that one week before your deadline, so people have time to respond.

as far as Brainstorm materials are concerned, by the way, you have my blind trust. You can use any of our past and future productions for this, no problem, even if some productions might be embarassing.

So what would you recommend for now?

Some of fairlight's 64k's for sure, why weren't they in before? Dead Ringer or Panic Room come to mind.

Forget to mention SOMETHING QUITE IMPORTANT - forget the stuff which I've listed on 2008-07-16 - Smuggler told me that file was corrupted, so there will be no demoscene on August D: Some of stuff will appear in September. Right now I want to provide some fresh stuff from this year parties. So help me.
