For once I agree with Doom (and I also participated in the Amiga demo compo at BP! What is happening to me? :O ) and say that smoking is merely ONE factor of MANY at BP.

Smokers and non-smokers will never get along nicely on an event like this, and I myself would be a fan of a smokeless, but then also noiseless and cleaner hall.

I mean, there even was a faggot playing music DURING the PC 64k compo!

My argument against smoke is not the health grounds. Its the fucking stink. Its disgusting. I'd like it if the corridors to the front and to the grandstand could be clear. I don't mind if people smoke on the grandstand, but i'd like to go to the toilet without walking through a wall of smoke.

But if you don't agree, well, thats fine. Its not completely intolerable, but it is something i really hated.

The audio sync on the amiga prods was my main concern, not the smoking. Oh and the assholes with the loudspeakers. I know "its tradition", but fuck it, its annoying.

The other thing that really annoyed me was my sweaty underpants.

I also have to complain by the lack of tits. Don't get me wrong, there where quite some nice tits around, but still, there could be a lot of improvement in that department.

I hereby volunteer to be part of the 'tits team' next year.

I personally wouldn't mind if smoking was limited to the outside and the grandstand. A clear path to at least some of the toilets wouldn't hurt. The extra few steps wouldn't be that inconvenient, and depending on how the ventilation is laid out, it could make a big difference.

Xeron: No one forced you to wear underpants.

On a completely different subject, is there any chance of getting more space in the future? The hall is pretty cramped. Maybe you could attach a sleeping tent to one of the emergency exits in the back?

i had serious trouble breathing in the hall and spent all nights coughing like hell. but that's mainly due to sudden exposure to both smoke and pollen (pollen season about to hit in sweden about now). but still. serious fuckings to everyone who smoked in the main hall.

okkie: we had tits in a production, axel was wearing a tshirt with tits and serp even ran around showing his tits. so we tried. :)

I also am allergic to tree pollen, and was worried about those trees - but I do _NOT_ want them cut down. That would be stupid.

The party kicked total and complete ass.

truck: actually the trees at the parking lots were cut down and it looked like the wood for the bonfire came from them. ;)

Hmm, since I used to be a heavy smoker that quit almost one year ago I might enter this discussion as well. I actually didn't mind anyone smoking in the hall and I really think it wasn't that bad. At least it didn't annoy me at all. Since you can never fully avoid that ppl will smoke in the main hall (well, I used to be one of them... :D), you just have to learn to tolerate it I think. If you are annoyed that somebody is smoking near you, just tell them to move to the smoking area or whatever. Or just go to another place yourself. The hall is big enough so it should be pretty easy to find a place where you can enjoy the party in peace. :) Just my 0.02 € =)

Madenmann: considering that the wood we burned post-party (under request from Scamp - "Please get rid of this wood by burning it" - Nosfe: take note, we need to get the wood all gone by the end of next year's party (: ) was, in many cases, green - i.e. sap/resin on the wood, popping and spitting and leaking when burned - I'd think some DID come from there. Or at least somewhere else with 'green' wood.

I like the effort, but that's just wrong man! ;)

And generally speaking, I'd like to voice my "me too" about the party being kickass once again. This time even the weather was on our side.

yup yup, not done a thanks message to the organisers yet, so I would like to congratulate you on again another superb party.. after all the problems you had with sponsors and whatnot you still produced imho one of the best parties ever! it is actually in my no. 1 spot with breakpoint 2004 joint place! THANKYOUS.

Nice party, as usual. Great PPOT gig. Outstanding demos. Too many guys missing. Nuff said.

(he's right though. that party was bloody brilliant. it would have been a complete waste to have spent it inside coding or something like that.)
