Almost nobody cares about who do what, we care about quality releases, sad but true.
All consoles / computers have pros / cons and please don't play the silly game vendors do to divide us in market parts: everybody have different taste, just admit that one time for all and admit each machine is great on at least one point.

Addiction to specific hardware is a disease. People affected want a piece of hardware to last forever. This is of course impossible. You can think of this disease as like a form of cyber-necrophillia. Curing this disease is very difficult, if not impossible too.
Hardware is irrelevant. No-one actually uses "hardware". Everyone uses software on hardware. Ergo, if you tie your software to specific hardware, when the hardware inevitably dies, the software dies with it.

I use will the PS2 for Demos, not to play stupid games... Nintendo rules for gaming.

Unfortunately for you, the last game console I ever owned was an Atari 2600. The one with the wooden frame. Which is also very much dead, naturally.
