codetree: Watch your code branch out

Quote:
Can digital artists learn new techniques, be exposed to new coding structures, and better express themselves by working in tandem or in a group?

CodeTree is an attempt to create a worthwhile dialogue between new media artists of different skill levels and backgrounds. The project’s objective is to offer a social network that facilitates learning and artistic expression—a place where coders can dissect, share, and expand upon one another’s code (...)

don't lose time browsing it
People posting gfx effects is just barely similar to what we know as "demoscene". Aesthetically speaking, most of the applets just look butt ugly.

I guess I should not bother explaining. But I am not a person to regret this kind of things.

You appear most focused on the content, but what about the process? Essentially what I tried to emphasize in my quote.

If that's the only issue in the whole dynamics, it is rather easy to fix. Just force people to read writtings by seneque before partaking.

j, I don't think it's such a good idea to make a kid start with C, though. Too much bullshit, not enough fun. I'd think a little child might like to have fancy results quickly, so he would not care about the underlying technology. If the goal is to make the kid discover the joy of procedural graphics, at least.
