There might have been a thread before about this, but it's always interesting to discuss..

When someone starts and gets along with the scene, years may pass and the question might not be risen yet. And the obvious answer is that you are just a scener and so you do demos, because you do.

Even if I don't like most of the times my motives for producing in the scene anymore, something still drags me because I am a scener and I like it sometimes. Somethings tells me to release just for the sake of releasing.

I think I have started because 1) I liked demos (but just watching in the beginning ;), 2) I wanted to do something creative with my computer, then I developed some dreams about becoming the ubergeek and stuff

Fun? This is an interesting subject for me (Because, somehow I miss it and I want to analyze where do I get it from and where do I miss it). I have more fun by gaming but after so many hours I don't feel it's nice anymore, because I feel like I wasted my time for nothing. So it's not fun at all to play games. So, I work on something. I don't have fun at the beginning because I am too lazy to start and the project is not something that will be released tomorrow. It's definitelly not fun but the feeling of accomplishment (If I ever manage to finish a new algorithm, but then again I have to finally release something to feel complete and that kills me, because it takes too much time and I have mostly left unfinished stuff lying around..).

I don't have always fun during the process, I do certain have in the accomplishment and release of a work. And demoscene project (at least if I don't wish to release something crappy, which I don't) take sometime, so I get unmotivated and write crap on Pouet ;P

Other than that? I don't know. Yesterday, I coded few CPC after watching some CPC demos. I just thought I should do it just for no reason, only to finish more 2% of my work and cause I was nostalgic to code Z80 again..

I don't know, but it's certainly interesting..

There are more good qualities for being a scener as I read few of the serious messages (s_tec's), but then again I killed that good feeling the scene could give me. I had said it before. Even trying to not waste my time and be more productive, would be another way to improve my lazy self. I wish I could take some drugs and clear my mind and then start over again with the scene. I killed it, I fuckin killed the feeling :(
