Seminars on how to best monetize your product with temporary DLC and limited use microtransactions?

I'm fucking serious >_>. Valve has done some extraordinarily shitty things lately. They are no longer a game company. Their sole enterprise is now making hats.

You forgot the graffitti sprays for CS:GO ;p
I do agree that they turned from a game studio to a online publisher, but if people feel like shelling out hundreds of USD for weapon skins, hats and other cosmetical bullshit its hard to blame valve for making profit out of it, isnt it?
Steam itself ist working just fine and opened up the universe for a world of indie games, plus opposed to the other "digital distribution platforms" like origin, uplay and battle.net you can get your games for a reasonable amount of coin mostly, not paying more than you would for the retail box at amazon - plus they have a lot of sales and other opportunities to get real gems for half or less.
So yeah, I get it, people want to hold a jewel case in their hand with software on a disc which is outdated at the point of install and half of it needs to be redownloaded anyway just to claim what they own is actually the software and not just some plastic but oh well...

The internet at work. :)

Abductee: are you generally in the Seattle / Bay Area these days? I'll be in California second week of November (tentatively).
