I would like to know more about Destop

category: offtopic [glöplog]
FWIW, there's at least one Pouët regular from Saudi Arabia.

what would you want to know? His favorite breakfast cereal?

Crazy how pouetans deride the very natural concept of learning to know a person.

This thread feels to me like one of the reasons why the demoscene doesn't attract that many new people nowadays.

It never did in fact.
In a general rule the scene was about the competiton, very often in a rat-race way (cracking scene) and if you know some groups' history, they were even some fights. Funny thing these ppl were usually heros behind their screens/monitors. If there is a real war, ppl simply do not show (at the parties)

@asd-romeda:
Please consider the fact that:
1. Scenners, even those more opened do not like/want to talk/be talked about. They are more interested in what you think about their work (to improve for exemple),
2. If you ask some unusual question (in here, for exemple), you will surely cross some fun/making-fun reaction. That's like that... Sometimes it is not pleasant, but well ;).
3. Take some answers at the second degree. Even if you feel being (kinda) attacked.
4. Why do you consider ppl like gods =). With time and passion you may be good at sth as well.
5. Do not expect personal answers (cereals on the breakfast ;) here. It is a demoscene, not a silly-social site... We talk about demos, achievements, some scene-related thingies hiere, not personal (out of scene) preferences.
6. It is often to be found here, that the topic's discussion diverges to many different subjects =). That's sometimes really cool and funny =). Sometimes not, thou ;).

I think you have already learnt some of these things, do not thee?..;).
BTW, there was (still is?) one very gifted C64 SID musician from Farsi country. But the scene is not too active (if at all) in those regions of the Planet Earth.

OKi... That's all from me and my personal and present vision of things. =)

7. is a random number
Magic: I'm interested in his modern pc demos and wanna know more about how he makes them. Smash's blog is cool but is pretty much just about code.

Sim: I already told 1in10 that from 'god' I mean 'people I respect a lot'. Nothing strange, just an expression! All I asked for was information about his work, not breakfast! (please read the whole thread before commenting). And don't worry about me, I got no hard feelings, I was even expecting such things. It's been a long time i've been monitoring pouet (8 years as I remember) but thanks for your honest and kind advices nonetheless!

Maali:thanks but I have seen that already, I wanna know more. There's something about his demos, some special kind of excellence. I want to know what each of his demos mean and where he draws inspiration from for his demos.

Why not? And if not working maybe it means he doesn't want to reveal what you ask about?

Because the most natural thing to do if you don't want to be talked about is to blast you (nick)name onto a 100m² screen in front of a thousand people, live broadcasted to thousands more...
