Yep, but Pouet is the only true center of demoscene (on the internet, not in real life). Where else would a newcomer go where the majority of the scene gathers (besides party, only online I mean)? Which means that the scene is doomed and we should all become alien lovers :)
I mean about Pouet!=scene or not receommended for newbies.
I don't recall inquisitive newcomers who are willing to learn ever treated badly here, if they got enough courage to start posing.
