It wouldn't be too hard to automatically create tabs based on prefixes either. Something like automatically putting all tracks starting with "part1:" into a given track-group. Dunno. This is a bit into the future, though.

But I think what gloom wants is slightly different though. He probably want to know what tracks he can modify at what point in time, so he don't waste time randomly testing things that doesn't work. For this it could be interesting to have the player-lib record when each track is read, and report that to the editor. The editor could in turn mark the tracks that are recently read in some way (color the track-name or something?).

Kusma has leading. A simple color-change on the row/track header would suffice.

ok, so i just tried the system on a "use case" yesterday and i definitly need some hiding mechanism :-)
blah, I gave the tabbed interface a stab tonight, but I was forced to remember what horribly nasty hack the editor-code is. I tried to fix up the hacks as I went along, but underneath the most obvious nasty hacks were a fucking iceberg of spaghetti code. Fuckings to user interface programming.

I think I must forfeit for now, perhaps I get some more energy tomorrow.

btw. are the data files useable when adding more columns from the code? i mean if version 1 has 10 columns and version 2 adds 10 new columns - will this work with out deleting the old syncs?

and about the gui; the coloring based on longest comon prefix should be pretty straight forward :)
I wish you luck in making the tabs finaly come alive!

Ofcourse i'd pay you in the finest beer Norway has to offer: Pokal - cause you're a winner!
