Are most Pouet users a little dumb?

sortof have to agree with optimus indeed.
then again, this is a good reason to force PS to code a "contributed to" feature to pouet :)

I agree too!

That feature would be a top idea too! I'd like to see if all the Shane-haters have actually done anything more productive.
>to code a "contributed to" feature to pouet :)

I'd love to see that since ages. How can we manage this? Will it be possible for a user to add a production to his contribution list? Would it lead to problems, like someone faking by putting his credits to a prod he has nothing to do with? Well,. that's common with Pouet. Sometimes I am jelious of CSDB, they do have a great database with credits list for each C64 production and group. You can lock prods/groups so that only your account can edit them. It would take a long time for Pouet to adopt the same logic..

"Xeron: You don't care and yet you wish I'd fuck off?
That is known as a contradiction."

Thats known as purposefully missing the point. "I don't care" that the things you do are attempts at satire and humour, in any case I just want you to fuck off.

@shane

You want my scene credentials, as a "shane hater"?

Alright. I was in Darkage under the nick "Mr. Tickle", where I coded a not particularily spectacular 4k intro, and a party invitation.

I coded the Diskmag engine used by "Devotion", and now "Jurassic Pack".

I won the TRSAC 2000 4 channel music compo.

I wrote the winning intro to the first #amigascne fast compo.

This year at Breakpoint, not only did I code half of the last place (and proud of it ;-) Amiga demo "You are completely anonymous", but a font I drew featured in Scoopex's intro (if you look closely, its the same font at the end of the anonymous demo), and I supplied BriteLite with a startupcode he used in "electronic soul" and "wessyde" (which although I didn't originally write, I have enhanced a few times).

Alright, its nothing particularly spectacular, but I think i've earned the status of "scener", especially as even though i'm in the UK and an Amiga scener, I make the effort to go to Breakpoint (and previously Mekka) and meet my scene friends in person (some of whom I consider to be true friends even if I only see them occasionally).

And the UK scene meetup November.
status of 'scener'.. classic.. i won a compo.. look at how great i am..

winning compos is for fucking losers.. being in the 'scene' means you stand for something, not what you have fucking achieved.

and then i read on..

actually.. i don't take back the 'you have to be an elitist fucking pussy and have won at least a gazillion compos to be called a true scener (oh and come from canada ofcourse)' part..

or fuck it.. who cares anyway

A possible idea might be to add the "credits" during prod-submission. Then it's up to the glöperators to fix the existing prods.

Okkie:

Three points.

1) Shane specifically asked whether shane haters have actually *been* *productive*. My response was "Yes, I've been productive".

2) I genuinely wasn't showing off.. I don't consider myself to be a particularily good coder or anything (in fact i'm rubbish ;-), I code for fun not fame! At least I try do so in the "spirit of the scene", whatever that is

3) Fuck you.

Also...

"being in the 'scene' means you stand for something"

Not for me. Being in the 'scene' means loving demos, making productions with my friends, meeting other sceners and getting drunk, having fun. I don't "stand" for anything.

Also, "winning compos is for fucking losers" ?! The scene has always been about competition as well as fun... so i guess we're all fucking losers, right?

i was talking in general actually, but nevermind.. and fuck you too buddy \o/

and yes.. we are all losers (i thought that was quite clear already :)) and i stand for something!!! i'm in the scene cause i want to make a statement!!! A STATEMENT DAMNIT!
added on the 2004-10-27 14:15:18 by okkie okkie
Hah. Yeah... OK.. we're all losers! I can live with that. Okkie, if you're at BP05, i'll buy you a beer.

Or maybe We're all winners!

Xeron: I didn't know you were Mr Tickle. Now I know that you are a productive scener, you can be my friend.

You can also join TRSI too if you want to.
Shane:

I just joined TRSI as a leader, kicked you out, reinstated the original members and kicked myself out. The end. Now go away.

ofcourse i'm at bp05, and i'll buy you a beer in return and we can discuss our statements! (yours being in the scene for a thing you call 'fun' and me being a hardcore commie terrorist who wants to take over the whitehouse using the powers of the demoscene)

and your link sooths me..

*sits and corner and drools*

it's gonna work! i swear!!!! i recently obtained information about bush buying a 'commandore 46' (this might be code though) so it's now only a matter of time!

I.. WILL.. PREVAIL!~! (oh shit.. bombastic music was played in the office so it sounded much cooler here than it probably does when reading on the forums)

HAha, you can't just make yourself leader!
Can too, quitsies, no anti-quitsies, no startsies!

It's so nice to see newfound love between sceners. I'll come to BP05 and make a film with you two worshipping your relationship and sell it on the internet.
Xeron:Do me a favour please and check your emails, thx!

Ghandy: If you emailed me recently, you may have to do so again, because SimpleMail threw a spaz and deleted the contents of my inbox, so I may have missed it...
