omg, they invented the scene in 2005!

Well I think the point is the fact that the sentence "large demographic of people" and some demo'ish objects occur on the same page. Although demographic has another meaning on its own, I don't think it was a coincidense that he chose that particular word for that particular article.

One of the music videos is now freely available.
I thought it was amazing, and also quite inspirational.

BT deserves the honorary demoscener award :)

The video was nice and relaxing but it was so going nowhere I forgot what I've seen about 2 minutes ago. Somewhere around 8 minutes I was like "Hey brain, what have I done the last five minutes? I cannot remember." I wouldn't call it inspiring. ;)
Well.. the animation wasn't bad. But what are you talking about giving him a scene award. He obviously lives in a very happy fantasy world where nobody ever laughs at his pseudo-smarts behind his back. Who are we to take all that away from him by telling him the truth about his "new form of digital art".

yeah, what madenmann said. the video is just a few 'nice ideas' whacked together. the desert pictures were nice but the rest was just mostly either alphablended colorfests or putting some default shaders on el mediocre 3d objects.. so not that inspiring ;)

That's called relaxing in my book :)

should have been done in realtime instead...
nothing of it would be impossible to do in realtime...
nice design, but don't see the point in making videos when all is procedurally generated (lots of object arrays in there).

Actually that happens sometimes to me when driving car. Maybe not 5 minutes but I really cannot remember wether the last 10 seconds were focused on the traffic or not. I just cannot call that relaxing. ;)
MadenMann:
I used to drive 300km/2 days per week earlier. The same road. I never remembered my trips what so ever. I just remember what happent before going into the car and then i was just 'there'.

That video rocked my box. I want to see demos this quality!
I wish I knew 3D...

It's kind of hard not to cringe at that article, even for a non-scener... they're acting like he's some sort of genius... loads of ppl do this sort of thing to the same sort of standard with less of a budget, and they don't get a smidge of recognition.

I'm not saying that it's crap. I'm just saying it's not at all as unique or even slightly pushing the envelope as much as the article describes.. I think it's basically just an ad for logic pro.

about "Beyond the Mind's Eye:
"An integration of the latest computer animation technology and artistry, together with original music composed by Jan Hammer (of Miami Vice fame). This video explores worlds that exist in alternate dimensions, and in the minds of the world's most leading computer animators. Includes animation from the prestigious Angel Studios."

btw i think that now ASD demos have reached the level of "BtME"

article is mega-cringe worthy drivel. The video though would be one of the 3 best demos Ive seen so far if it was real-time. If I would criticise I'd say it is too intellectual, lacks any emotion, probably due to a lack of good pacing, but its undeniably beautiful to me.

Even if the album is pretty much under-marketed in Europe, you guys are amazingly late to pick up on this.

"B"oobs like "T"its. A phrase a female co worker of me used to say in german very very often, which means "Whatever".
