Well, I don't really like cookies, but more & more users asked me to add some way to not have to put your login/password each time.
I did that and now... huh =)

I've just added a login box on each page where a login is required, I don't think it's that annoying.
And I won't do a permanent cookie because it's way too much unsecure.

Finally, about the banner, check this

having a login box on each page is kinda annoying and slows down the "post rate" ( you have to login if you hadn't before or if the cookie's just been eat by the browser )

imo permanent cookie is the only way to have something pleasant to use

I don't care about the ads at the bottom, sometimes I even click on it if it's fun

The only hole is if somebody steals your cookie file, but even with it, you can login but you can't decrypt your password, I think that's ok.

That's why i wrote "option", like a small checkbox below the U/P fields with which you can select a permanent cookie instead of a session one. OJ/Nectarine handle it this way, and I find it rather convenient. And if you don't like insecure permanent cookies, you don't need to use them.
