Note: This is a bugfixed version of the demo. The demo contained a bug that
      sometimes made EMM386 to report an illegal DMA-mode. Hope that was the
      only bug... ;-)

2 Information:
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

CyberSpeed is a new Demo-Group from Germany. The Group was founded in the be-
ginning of the year 1995. We already had some ideas for a demo before we
founded our Group. Newton and Undead were just working on a Voxel-Space-Sys
when we got the idea to start a Demo-Group and make voxel-space-based demo. We
had to develop all routines from scratch, and it took a little longer to
finish the demo. Even though I hope that you can enjoy it.
If it doesn't work at all, have a look at the following two chapters. They
might help you.

Now some information about the demo itself:
This Demo is our first Demo and... yes, we are proud of it! Okay, then let me
tell you something about the software we used to create this:
  - TASM 4.0
  - Turbo Pascal 6.01/7.0
  - Sound Workshop 2.00.6 by Newton/CyberSpeed
  - Quadra-Composer/Amiga
  - Scream Tracker 3.2
  - Galaxy Master II

Very useful literature:
  - PC Intern 3 & 4 (M. Tischer, Data Becker)
  - Amiga-Special Magazine
  - PC Underground (B. Bertelsons/M. Rasch, Data Becker)
  - PC-Programmierung in Maschinensprache (P. Monadjemi, Markt&Technik)

More or less useful literature:
  - "Das Superbuch SoundBlaster" (A. Burda/B. Bertelsons, Data Becker)
    (much too many mistakes in it, be very careful!!!)

3 Hardware requirements:
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

The Demo requires at least a 486 SX/25 but a 486 DX2/66 is strongly recommened.
The Demo won't run on 386-based machines because they are much too slow.
You need about 570,000 Byte of free conventional and about 2MB of EMS memory.
Many demos tell you to remove your EMS-Emulator. But this demo DOES require it!
UMBs are also used, if available.
You also need a fast VGA-GFX Card and a SoundBlaster-compatible soundcard. Note
that many NONAME soundcards pretend to be SoundBlaster-compatible. But in
truth they don't support all DSP-commands they should support. So if the demo
hangs, the soundcard might be a reason. Also many 16-Bit NONAME soundcards only
support 8 Bit in SoundBlaster-emulation mode. Better go and buy the original
by Creative Labs even if it's a bit more expensive.
If the demo doesn't find the BLASTER-Environment string, it will try to work
out the hardware settings of your soundcard itself. The hardware detection
routine is a bit difficult. It normaly works on SB-originals but it sometimes
hangs on SB-clones, so you are supposed to set up the BLASTER-environment
variable correctly.

Soundcards supported by our soundsystem:
  - Soundblaster (8 Bit, mono)
  - Soundblaster Pro (8 Bit, stereo/mono)
  - Soundblaster 16 (16 Bit, stereo/mono)

Ok. Now you might miss the Gravis Ultrasound in the above list. This is no
error. Our soundsystem doesn't support it yet because no one of us owns one and
we had no possibility to develop a driver. Please don't kill us! Perhaps next
time... Hello to John Smith/Advanced Gravis ;-)

4 Bugs? and other shit:
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

Err... yes, there are bugs! The demo might not work with QEMM! It works fine
with MS-DOS 6.2, HIMEM and EMM386 loaded. DR-DOS is also working. The Demo also
works with Windows 95 (sorry, we apologize). Other OSs were not tested but are
supposed to work. We hope that the Demo is capable running with PC-DOS and OS/2
but we didn't test this out. If the Demo doesn't run, try the following
configuration (for MS-DOS 6.2):
  CONFIG.SYS:
  ~~~~~~~~~~~
  DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE RAM HIGHSCAN
  FILES=40
  DOS=HIGH,UMB
  STACKS=8,256
  BUFFERS=4,8
  FCBS=2,2
The AUTOEXEC.BAT might look like the following:
  AUTOEXEC.BAT:
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  @ECHO OFF
  @CLS
  @SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 T4
  @PATH=C:\;C:\DOS
  @LH KEYB,GR,,C:\DOS\KEYBOARD.SYS

This is what you need. The SET BLASTER= string is important to find your sound-
card. T4 is used if you have a SBpro. For a SB it must be T3.
Don't load any TSRs in your CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT except the keyboard
driver. The only thing you need in your AUTOEXEC.BAT is the SET BLASTER= envi-
ronment string.

 Quadra-Composer is good, but add multichannel-support :-< and some more
 file-formats like S3M! (Amiga CAN handle more than 4 channels...)

 Wahnsinn, so ein gutes Programmierbuch wie PC-Intern habe ich noch nie
 gesehen! Fast alles steht da drin. Aber wann gibt's endlich was ber die
 direkte Programmierung des Floppy-Controllers? Wie bitte? PC-Intern 5.0
 ist ber Windows 95? Neiiiiiiin, erbarmen!
