                This demo has been released on the Takeover '98 by
                The Solar Group, a demogroup from The Netherlands.
                It is our first demo ever! It is a demo in the old-school
                style, meaning it has a lot of 2D effects and NO 3D!
                You'll probably ask: 'Why no 3D?'. Well, first, our
                current 3D code isn't outright stable and fast and besides,
                we had a lot of 2D code waiting to be used!

                This demo does not have higher color modes, no higher
                resolution modes (except for the still images) and doesn't
                use VESA VBE 2.0 modes, so you won't need UNIVBE to run it!

                The demo has been coded using Borland Pascal 7.0 and runs
                in protected mode. The source code is about 7000 lines long,
                and compiling results in an EXE file of about 107k.
                The resource file (where all the music, images, etc. are
                stored) is approx. 2,2 MB. The zip file is 1,5 MB.

                þ A 486 DX2/66 at the least, big Pentium recommended
                þ Memory at least 8 Mb, could be more
                þ Videocard (ega is not recommended)
                þ Soundcard, plus amplifier at 100%, preferably a big set
                  of speakers, potent enough to consume a complete city
                þ Dos
                þ Lots of guts and suicidal madness

                For this demo you need at least a 486 DX2/66. Not all
                parts will run at high speed then though.
                Our best bet is a Pentium MMX running at 166 Mhz. Everything
                above that will be maybe too fast :).

                Our demo works fine on most Soundblaster-compatible cards,
                yet with some cards you need to fiddle with the configuration
                a bit (see below for more info). We don't know if the demo
                will work with a GUS, but the MIDAS docs say so, so it
                probably does. If it doesn't, we'll try to fix it, but that
                will be difficult since we got no GUS anywhere near.


úùþÄÄ3. Known bugs and hintsÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄþùú

                There are a few known bugs in this demo:

                        1. Users of PAS soundcards need to configure their
                           sound manually, for the detection routine will
                           probably not work.

                        2. Users of clone SoundBlaster (PRO) cards probably
                           need to set their soundtype to 'SoundBlaster v1.0'.
                           If you let the demo autodetect your card or you
                           set it manually to 'SoundBlaster Pro', it could be
                           that the demo stops with an error message. This
                           happened with a lot of clone cards when testing.
                           Users of SB16/AWE32 clones will probably not have
                           this problem.

                        3. On some computers (possibly only Pentiums), the
                           screen-refreshing-rate-detection will fail. Your
                           machine will hang. To avoid this, use the '-T'
                           switch to bypass this detection and to use
                           a default value. This value is valid for most
                           videocards.

                        4. If you (for any weird reason) have your BLASTER
                           environment variable set without having a soundcard
                           in your computer, the demo will stop with a
                           'Sound Device hardware failure' message. Unset the BLASTER
                           variable and start again. (this was the case when
                           testing the demo on a network, where a global login script
                           set the BLASTER variable, while not all computers where
                           the demo was tested were equipped with a soundcard.)

                Hint One: This demo may run under Windows '95, but it hasn't
                          been tested as such. For maximum performance (yech,
                          I sound like a game box) use DOS-only mode.

                Hint Two: This demo isn't entirely clean with it's memory
                          usage. We suggest a nice reboot after you run
                          this demo. Especially PM programs may get fucked up.
