The TROLL & Co. Contribution to DHS Christmas 2003 competition !
Euuuuh, can we say this is the wild category compo ?

INTRODUCTION :
Yeeeeeah, believe it or not but The Raiders Of The Lost Lock & Co.
(TROLL & Co.) have released something !
But as usual [frenchies rulezzz], we did not respect all the rules,
why ? Euhhh I'll say first because I'm a falcon lover... not a good
reason ? Okay, so second because we're lamer coders ???
In fact it's a little bit more complex... Except the fact we wanted
to release Falcon stuff for this compo (first rule not enforced), we
really planned to repect the other rules but due to a lot of
misfortune (Gwile Flacon nearly dead, Thomas/NB CT60 makes his hard
drive crazy, Matt'Us Alem SCSI drive died...) we didn't succeed in
doing exactly what we wanted... Anyway ! That's why it's wild and
feeling rulezzz and since we saw we couldn't respect some other rules
we decided to do something we like instead of giving us too many
limits !
WHAT'S IN ?
In this compo released version you'd find :
- Nice True color 640x240 Xmas pix from a wellknown illustrator
(Sorayama pin up 21)
- Never seen before fonts TC fonts done by Matt'Us Alem in 5
minutes
- Lissajou hardscroll to move this silly people
- Great ACE X-mas theme tune from Damo/RG (snowman theme) but
mp2 encoded due to some technical issues...
- An unreadable transparent scroller during at least 3 minutes
In a future release (next week ?) we will add
- 2 magic ACE tunes made by 505/Checkpoint
- Bugfix (VGA/RGB speed,...)
- Maybe something readable !
So nothing brillant :) But the X-mas girl deserves it !
And as the ACE player consumes most of CPU time, we need to have sth
as light as possible so the hardscroll was a good solution no ?
But for sure, you'll see great ACE demo next year !!!!
What about ACERockerz ???? ;-)
COMPO RULES
- 15 Kb limit (don't you said 15 Mb ?)
Due to some pbs with the
Brainstorm JPG decoder and the ACE player issue, we had to encode
the ACE tunes in mp2, so it was 10 Kb for 3 ACE tunes compressed
and now it will be 3 Mb !!!! MP2 rulez :( But we really wanted to
release the great tune from Damo and next the 505 tunes !
In the same way, we cannot touch to the Xmas girl, she's tooooo
cute ! What about Grayscale 320x200 pix ?
But 30 Kb was reachable....
- Music
3 Ace music were done, Damo/RG has done this very nice snowman
theme I converted to mp2, 2 more themes from 505 will follow in mp2
version too.
- Gfx
Yep, the Xmas gfirl is not an original drawing but she's too cute
(I said it before ?), the font was done by Matt'Us Alem for this
purpose
- Coding
You'll need a Falcon to run this demo, 4 Mb should be enough (not
tested) so forget about 1 Meg ST :)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Atari Falcon 030, C-Lab Falcon MK I, MK II or MK X
- 4 MB ST-RAM
- FPU
- VGA or RGB monitor, VGA favoured for sync
- A floppy or a harddisk with 1 Mb free (Yep, a 15Ktro :-) )
hard drive favoured due to mp2 loading
