Setup

realoaded uses V3X, realtech famous 3D engine, which can use either DirectX or OpenGL and has an video card detection that will adapt all the 'shaders' to match your system. Wide screen resolutions are supported, multisampling, anisotropy. Check the 'Setup' in the menu.

DirectX9 version ( Windows version only )

By default, the application is using DirectX 9.0C. Most people should have DirectX 9.0c already as part of Windows XP SP2.
If you don't have it installed, the DirectX Renderer won't be available. It will uses the OpenGL render path.

The engine will automatically adapts to your video card : So, a Geforce2MX will works, but effects will be disabled. Starting with Pixel 1.4 support, most of effects will be there (like specular bump mapping), but for best experience, Pixel Shader 2.0 is recommended.

OpenGL version (MacOS X, Windows if only DirectX 9.0c is not available)

Again, the engine will automatically adapts to your video card : A Geforce2MX will works, but some effects will be disabled. Starting with ATI R200 generation, fragment shader will be supported, but for best experience, ARB fragment program is recommended. OpenGL 2.0 is also supported.

-d3d : force Direct3D renderer (only for Windows)
-gl : force OpenGL renderer
-demo : run only the demo (no front end)
-nocache : do not copy the demo resource in memory (slower, but saves ~20 MB)
-nosound : disable sound
-reset : reset all parameters
