- Massive technical achievement! Holy grail of 1px 50fps full screen tunnel (well half screen really, but still :-P). Really glad you managed to get this out, even if the rushed presentation meant it was lost on most people. Looking forward to seeing where you take this tech next, and it was great chatting to you again at the party.

- Nice one! It's great that you've joined the tiny group of masochists who enjoy extreme size coding on Amiga and I'm looking forward to seeing more. Quite the boss move to release it in the 4k compo too!

A pet peeve of mine are bootblock intros which don't continue booting though.
Fixed now. I managed to free up enough bytes to add proper exit code. Thanks for the feedback! - isokadded on the 2024-02-14 12:22:15

Any deets on the tunnel?
Sure, maybe I should do a proper write-up at some point. The tunnel uses a 86x50 copper chunky screen. It was orignally bigger, but it didn't leave time for the music routine!
Hm. I guess it uses a special mode then, or you too could Water my Grey Beard. ;) Obviously I would have made it wider if it were really possible, and at no point was the music routine a consideration.
It was the height I had to compromise on for the music routine, not the width. Previously I was using more vertical overscan, which seemed to screw things up. The routine is similar to yours, but the width is reduced a bit so it can be centered and switch back to the bg colour. It uses a repeated column to hide the ragged edge on the right. It also uses shorter loops for 4x3 chunky pixels, but that's more about the speed of the effect than the copper chunky mode itself. - isokadded on the 2024-01-31 07:33:09
